I'm thinking we should have a board devoted to deals.

For instance, say one non-sponsor website has a smokin' deal that could be beneficial to the fellow brothers, it would be posted there. All the freebie deals could be posted there as well. I think it would make a good addition, that way people don't have to look as much and it would all be consolidated.

Well, looking at this from a different perspective, if I were a sponsoring vendor here, I might be a little miffed that other sites are getting free advertising on this site via this deals board. I think we might lose some sponsors over this idea. I know the reason behind it, just to make it easier to find deals. But there is also something to be said for vendor loyalty too.

Nice thought Kevin. I don't have a problem if you post deals of the day in there from non-cigar merchants. Kind of like "hey I found this external drive for $xxx., etc." I voted no, but am really on the fence.

I personally feel we have enough sections of the board to address this such as the "The Leaf", "The Marketplace", and "Our Sponsors" section.....but that's just my vote.

Why not start a thread with a list of good deal sites instead? Opening a deals forum would make it susceptible to affiliate/referral links, which we do not allow.

i agree, keep an on-going thread, kind of like 'this or that.' i do appreciate learning about freebies, etc (like the recent 40% off foot locker),,,, though i ran into that postpurely by accident.

i think that we all see enough of cigar deals, and accessory deals. when a great deal on cigar stuff pops up, somebody will usually post anyway. i recently did regarding the desktop deal at holts. i would like to see a deal room on other stuff that we need. things like knives, flashlights, tools, whatever.
