After occasionally going shooting at the local range with my friends for some time using their guns, I finally purchased my first pistol. I got a Smith and Wesson .40S&W 4043. Went to the range last night and went through a few boxes of ammo. What a blast!:gangfire:

Now I have another avenue to spend my money!

Nice! I have a Smith M&P9 and love the way it feels and shoots. :gangfire: I wavered between the .40 and the 9mm and finally opted for the smaller of the two. Maybe I'll put some night sights on it in the near future.

I've rented the .40 at the range and it does shoot nice. You're going to enjoy it...S&W make some quality guns!

(Mark, I traded that little Kahr K40 when I bought the Smith...liked the Kahr but it just felt too small with the covert grip)

i had the S&W model 66 357 revolver. first hand gun i shot. man, i miss that gun. Traded for the Glock 23 40 cal., then was issued the Glock 22 40 2 months later. i'll swear by that one. something about the safety on the Glock that i love: if you pull the trigger, the gun will shoot. if you don't pull the trigger, the gun will not shoot. period!

My primary carry gun is the Glock 23 (40 cal.) or my Taurus .357 snubby.

That said, S&W makes a fine pistol!

I've not shot a S&W auto gun, just revolvers (so far), but I do carry the S&W .40 on a daily basis.

Congrats on the purchase.

The M&P is a fine weapon. I would highly recommend this to a new shooter. It's great for you Leftys too with the Ambi Slide and Mag......
