haha, i definitely thought about it :) the toro was really amazing tonight. the only negative thing i can say about it was i had to pull a 2 inch stem out of it, but even with a giant hole in the filler, the draw was perfect. I just had to pinch it together when it got towards the last 2 inches or so.

Actually, today isn't too shabby. The One-Day deal of 20 JdN's for $40; toss in "Joe's Daily" of 20 Perdomo CI Legends for another $40 with free shipping on entire order and you've got 40 pretty good smokes at $2 per. Not top-shelf, but no turds here by any means.

I am clearly a noob... I am thinking of pikcing up the daily deal (Perdomo CI Legends), the one day deal fo 20 JdN's and the Pirate's Gold by Rolando Reyes - No. 4 Maduro 40 pack (50 bucks). I figure since my current stock of 3 or 4 cigars is quite small...that this is a good buy. Any comments?

I am also getting 2 round Hygro-Set Adjustable Digital Hygrometers as I am building a coolidor and the second one because orders of 150 include a free small humidor that does not have a hygrometer...

The Joya de Nic are good smokes, I do not know about the Pirates gold. Considering you are going to have a cooler for storage, you'll have room to get something else if you don't like them. Look around other sites to see if you are acctually getting a deal or enough of a deal to make sense. While you may get 20 smokes for $40 if they are normally $45 smokes, you are not getting a good deal. Unless you already kow you will like that cigar. I cross reference JRcigar, CI, Famous, and tampa humidor. If you want to try something as a single cigar, Tampahumidor.com offers free shipping on singles smokes no matter how many you buy.

right on, i was just giving basic examples. A little research is advised, and read the reviews. CI and Famous will post negative reviews as well as good reviews. For a buck a stick, you can toss em or give em away if you don't like them. I bought some cheap shit on CI way back and they have been in the humi for a year. They acctually smoke ok now.

The Pirates Gold have gotten great reviews for the price range. The CI Perdemo Legends have no reviews that I can see. I am basically trying to get a collection of decently priced cigars started for the summer - I always love a nice cigar while trying to catch a big fish! When my tastes develop, then I will most likely start going for the expensive ones.

the reds are amazing, typical pepin style, spicy up front, leading to creamy with a slight spice. i've had the green (oscuro) and remember it being very full bodied, but i was slightly intoxicated at the time, so don't quote me on that.

These are a medium bodied smoke with a moderate typcial pepin flavor also with some slight pepper and leather. The flavors are well balanced, and they are well consturcted. I give em around an 89. Theyretail for around $6 or $7 each.

I think they're a mixed filler cigar, but I've never tried one. Personally, I've been able to find great cigars on sale for as low as $2-3 a stick, so saving an extra 50¢ or $1.00 isn't worth the loss of quality.
