Hey Austin-area folks: checking all y'all for meeting up this Sunday, same time (~1 or 1:30), and whether there are any thoughts about which place to visit. Jason's gonna be out of town, so we know he'll take a pass until next week. How about anyone else?

So, let's start planning for next weekend. Jason and I talked about possibly meeting up to herf and have lunch, possibly at a bbq joint that's not too far out. We were thinking that maybe County Line on 360 & Bee Caves, provided it's nice out, to sit on the deck that looks out over the hill country, eatin' bbq and smoking. What do you think? If you like the idea I'll call County Line to see whether our plan to smoke on the deck poses any problems.

I'll be down there this weekend for a wedding. Friday is all about the cigars for me, I'm planning on going through 4 or so, as it's an all day (clean) bachelor party. I might try to get one or two in Saturday, and I might have some free time at some point Saturday. The wedding is Sunday at 4, so I might be able to get together with you guys if you stay late, like 8 or 9. I'll also be there Monday and maybe Tuesday night if anyone wants to get together. Actually, 2-3 is better for me (drank with the inlaws a little too much last night :crosseyed ). I did call out there and it's raining there, so the patio is soaked, and looking at the radar it's looking like it could continue raining throughout the day. So, we may just want to meet up at Little Woodrows instead...if/when you hear from Greg, post back and let me know.

Sorry for the late reply. I just now saw this. I have had a couple of long weeks and I am just chilling this weekend trying to recoupe. Sorry. But I will definitely want to herf next week as it will be my only chance to do so for most of the month of May. I will be going to SA for mothers day and the weekend after that I will have UT Graduation for Candon, and after that is my trip to Vegas. So as you can see very busy lineup. Good seeing you out for a smoke again as well. I have passed along the plan to Danny and Candon and they both seem to be pretty excited about the opprotunity to have a nice beer and smoke. I believe the response I got was a resounding "Hell Yeah!" So looks like it will come together nicely. So we shall see if Greg and his better half are down with it which I am sure they will be. Hey, I'm totally down for just meeting at LW again, if the timing would make it better for you guys. There will be plenty of opportunities to hit the Draughthouse. Probably not this summer, since we'd be outside of course, but come the Fall it'd be good again.

Also, I had it confirmed for me today that my office will only get 14 UT football tickets per game (way down from the usual 20-25/game), so I may have a harder time getting all of us tix. There are some games, like Rice, which may work out really well because, ahem, it's Rice. I'll keep y'all posted though as the major donors get signed up and it becomes more clear which game(s) I might be able to snag us some tix & wristbands for the Endzone Club (read: drinking while watching the game on big screens under the Godzillatron).

I currently have two wine fridges, Magic Chefs from Home Depot. I'm not sure whether they're still carrying the MCs, I think they might have gone with a different manufacturer in these parts. Anyway, both are 28-btl which I've converted with sp cedar shelves, beads, computer fan, and thermo control. However one of them I'm going to ditch soon as I'm expecting a new Aristocrat by the end of the month. If you're interested, we might work a deal or something.

As for this weekend, I think I may have a date tomorrow afternoon/evening (with the woman I told Greg and Jason about while moving), so probably no herfin' for me. Can't afford to go smelling like an ashtray before, erm, the deal is sealed :starrylov

well i picked up a vinotemp 28 btl at target today, but the digital display says i have it set at 54, yet my hygrometer is saying 65. so there's an 11 degree difference somewhere.

I eventually wanted to cedar out my WC and such, so that actually would be nice if we can work out a deal on one of those. Keep me in the loop!

Congrats on the 2nd interview. Thats about the only thing I would put before herfing with the fellows. As far as the sunday herf is concerned...Jason is in S.A. until tomm around 1ish so if anyone is interested Jason and I will getting to LW's around 3:30-4:00. Mindflux...There's alot of post on here concerning your question. Take a look at the forums related to storage. I'm sure that you find very valuable information that will answer any and all questions. I personally have an Avallo 1200 with an electronically controlled humidification system. My only regret is not dropping the extra cash on a cooled unit. I had the same problem with my desktops and I eventually had to move it to the closet where it was the most cool room away from any direct sunlight. Good luck!

If you don't want to wait, Hogan's Hardwoods just south of Ben White carries 2x4 planks and will cut to measure--they may just slide right into the slots where your wire racks fit right now (mine did). I had to sand them, obviously, and drilled holes throughout each plank to increase airflow top-to-bottom.

I know for a fact that Jason nor myself will be available this weekend. We're going to Dallas to help Danny (drl1211) and Candon move into their new house and break in their cigar smoking room.

The closest B&M to where you'll be staying is Habana House, tucked inside the Ruta Maya coffee house on South Congress: http://www.showmeyourash.com/. It's about 2-3 miles as the crow flies from the area in which you're staying. The City of Austin has a smoking ban in place for all public buildings; where properly marked, smokers can smoke outside of establishments if they're 15 feet away from any public entrance. Lots of joints have decks and all you need to do is ask one of the servers whether they have any problems with you lighting up a stogie--most don't mind. Right down where you're at, you MUST stop in at Shady Grove for a great burger and rings, it's on Barton Springs road a couple blocks west of Lamar. There's also a good coffeehouse near Shady Grove called Flipnotics, which has a nice shaded deck area.

As for our group, we get together Sunday afternoons, 1:30 or 2 p.m., just outside the smoking ban ordinance at Lil' Woodrows, up on the north side of town. If you and yours are free while you're in town, join us! Just post here and we'll get you directions/map info.

I just left before you posted this. I put down a nice 04 SP Belicoso and had a few beers and some chicken strips. They somehow ran out of fries so I got onion rings instead. Not a bad substitution.

I also heard from Amber about some brawl the night before and that she (or whomever) was upset with Jason. Not sure if it's related to the brawl or the fact Jason wasn't there today.
