I know a lady who says she used to smoke cigars. She saw (and more importantly, smelled) me smoking a CAO M-2 and exclaimed that she hasn't had a cigar in years.

I have never actually seen a lady smoking a cigar. Do they generally smoke small ring guage cigars? or should I buy her a Churchill or a double corona?

Sheep's wife smokes em semi-regularly with us. She usually smokes PCs and stuff. One of here favorites is the Short Story. Pretty much, though, if it's small and Sheep likes it, she's gonna steal it. You know what they say...

...what's his is hers and what's hers is hers.

My wifes started off with small flavored cigars for about a year or so. Then she started to take what I was smokeing. Now she will smoke what ever is in the humidor. She prefers medium body robusto's.

I've seen women smoke all different sizes ... from flavored cigarillos to salamones and everything in between.

Ask her what she used to enjoy and go from there. Maybe get her something on the milder side for her re-initation.

I like the Short Story. Good flavor, does not take an hour and a half to smoke.

The only time I ever saw a woman smoke a cigar was on a cruise ship, we were coming back from Ensonata, Mexico. I had found a cigar shop there and bought some Cohibas. Several people told me that odds were they were counterfeit, but they tasted exactly like they were supposed too.

I was pretty surprised to see a woman smoking a cigar, but after talking to her and her husband for a bit, she was pretty well informed. She did say that she didn't smoke on a regular basis, but special occasions were just made for cigars.

She was cool.

Like Jay said, my wife will occasionally smoke cigars with all of us. She probably only smokes 1 per month, but she does enjoy them. Her favorites (and currently stashed in my humidor) are:

- A. Fuente Hemingway Short Story
- A. Fuente Hemingway Best Seller
- A. Fuente Chateau Fuente Maduro
- A. Fuente Curly Head Deluze Maduro
- Fuente Fuente Opus X xXx, aka "Power Ranger"
- Padron 2000 Natural
- Padron 1964 Anniversary Natural Principie
- Cusano 18 Maduro Robusto

As you can see from that list, she likes smaller cigars. For the most part, she stops enjoying most larger cigars about half-way through, so she intentionally purchases smaller sticks so she can enjoy the whole thing, start to finish, and not feel bad about tossing half-a-stick away.

Any FYI, the Hemi Short Story is *definitely* her favorite cigar.

I have two female friends who smoke cigars on occasion. One prefers small cigars, the other will smoke anything from PC up to Toro and Churchills. I would say that you should approach it like any cigar smoker that you're not sure of what they like. Mild-Medium to Medium strength, middle of the road size like a corona or robusto. Just my .02

My wife really loves taking hits of my maduro Fuente Chateaus and Double Chateaus. She seems to notice a big difference in flavor between these and a lot of the other cigars I smoke. She also loves DE/RP Javas, especially the Wafe size.

I would ask her if she has preferences of mild, medium, or full strength. If she is a cigarette smoker might be able to handle a stronger cigar right off the bat. I have seen woman smoke cigars, but not too often. Not sure there is any true woman cigar. From those I have been around or others have told me, most prefer a more mild up to a medium strength cigar.

A few years ago I went to a beer fest in Providence, RI. One of the vendors there was Gina Cigars (http://www.ginacigar.com/about.html). Because there were some smokin' hot girls at their booth (and I was drunk), I bought one. (A cigar, not a girl.) Man, that thing was vile! Smelled and tasted like some hooker spilled her perfume on it.

When we go to the big smoke in vegas there is a beautiful blonde that only smokes FFOX double coronas. It is a wonderful sight to see.

I'm amazed that no one has made the comment that Sheep's wife likes a "Short Story"

You guys are really losing your touch...

My wife also smokes cigars on an occasion (used to smoke them a lot when I first started). She used to smoke CAO Honeys or Java Wafes when she was in the mood for something flavored. When she wasn't she'd smoke pretty mkuch anything. She loved Ashton VSG, HdM Seconds, Flor de Oliva, Bolivar, and Montes. Any and all sizes.

And if you like this girl, I wouldn't tell her your assumptions that all ladies must smoke smaller cigars. :hysterica You might as well tell her they're all bad drivers and the only reason she's angry is because she's on her period.

what makes a female smoking a cigar any different than a male smoking a cigar? (well, other than the fact that if she's a hottie, it'll just about make any guy cream in his pants  )

exactly
one can't make a blanket statement about what male smokers like, nor can they make one about what female smokers would like. everyone has their own tastes, so find out hers, then make it you! :smokingbo
