Size: Belicoso ( 5.75" x 54 )
Wrapper: Indonesian
Binder: Sumatra
Filler: Honduras, Nicaragua, Dominican Rep., Costa Rica
Paired with: Cold water

This is part of the Bundelo series from Bucanero ... bundled cigars in the $2-$3 range. The La Noche is mixed long and medium filler. My cigar was the belicoso size. The wrapper is advertised as being maduro - but this was one of the more lighter maduro wrappers I've seen. Kind of like a Padron natural with smaller veins and a nice oily sheen. The roll was very solid.

I clipped off about a 1/4" and lit it up while reading a book in the backyard this afternoon. The draw was fine with just minor resistance and it produced a good amount of smoke. The burn was even and the ash fairly solid for the first half of the cigar at which point the ash turned somewhat flakey and the burn erratic - requiring a few touchups. I guess the smaller filler leaves were concentrated in the second half of the roll.

This was not a complex cigar at all - with the flavors being fairly constant all through the smoke. They were good - but pretty unique. There was a core of cedary tobacco and a touch of spice. The unusual part can only be described as a slightly sweet, fermented flavor. It reminded me of the aromas + tastes I get while standing in a winery aging room - surrounded by barrels of different aged wine. Maybe some call this a yeasty flavor. In any case it was very pleasent.

The cigar started out somewhat mild but overall I'd put this closer to medium in strength and body. A pretty good value for the price and something I could recommend for an everyday type of cigar.

A seldom talked about line. Thanks for the review Ted. A Bucanero sampler is one I wish to try some day.

The Bucanero line has become my favorite. I really enjoyed their Havana Rose, just wish it came in a smaller size. Smoked a Salsa last night and it was great/ Nice even burn, and a draw that was just as I like it, not too loose, nor to tight. Flavor was, as the name implies, spicy, but very, very pleasant.

I have the Robusto sampler pack, and plan to buy several of the others.

If you haven't tried a Bucanero do yourself a favor and pick up a couple. They can be a little hard to find, but you can always go to their web site and order their sampler packs.

Cheers,
