Size : 6" x 60 (toro)
Wrapper : Brazilian
Binder : Honduran
Filler : Nicaraguan, Dominican and Columbian

I've had a couple of these now and they all smoke basically the same. The look is very striking ... a dark maduro wrapped cigar with bold red bands (one at the foot). The cigars are very heafty and solid with only a couple of spots that might be considered soft. It clipped easily and took to the flame with ease.

The first third of the cigar was quite strong, with bold and spicy flavors. Lots of smoke and a solid ash. The second third mellowed out somewhat and had occasional burn issues, but overall it was still pretty good. The final third was rather odd though. It started off very floral with an odd background flavor somewhat like pancakes + maple syrup. This quickly dissapated though. At this point the flavors became quite boring and dull ... although there were flashes of flavor that reminded me of the very beginning of the smoke.

Then the cigar just stopped burning ....

It stopped burning because you didn't pay your share to HBO and they cut your service off.

Thanks for the review Ted

Overall I'd say just OK. It started out with bold with a promise of good things to come, but in the end it left me unfulfilled and wondering "what happened?".

I've enjoyed everything I've had from CAO, but I haven't tried the Soprano yet. I've had one sitting for a while, so you might just be giving me the inspiration to smoke it. It's not the Tony Ltd. though.

I've felt much the same way about the Soprano's cigars, until I sat on one for about a year. It was freakin fantastic! Everything was as it should be, the spiciness stuck around for most of it, it burned perfectly, it never tasted bland or went wonky.

I'd like to get a few more, and sit on them for a couple of years now (if my willpower can hold out that long!)

You know I really like CAO but these really didnt do anything for me. I keep thinking I should try another but you probably save me some money. Am I the only one that caught the subtle parallel tot he series ending? :waving:

I liked them but not for the money. If they were about 3 bucks I would smoke them.

Funny you compare them to the series, I see a comparison.

Am I the only one that caught the subtle parallel to the series ending? :waving:Now that you mention it, quite clever I must say

You could say the review sums up the entire series.

It's about time someone noticed. :ballbounc

I based my whole review on the TV series. I thought the references to floral and pancakes would give it away ...

Even though there have been a lot of mixed reviews on these smokes, I still have my eyes on them every time I visit my B&M because I'd like to try one. However, due to the price, I keep choosing something else. One of these days I'll pull the trigger. :smokingbo

I bought one last month and it's in my Humy getting alittle older. I would normally steer clear of the price tag, but my B&M had a raffle for any one who bought one. The raffle was for the CAO Sopranos Humidor. You know the big black one shaped like the trunk of a car? I didn't win, but i do have a big ass Maduro burning a hole on my top shelf.

Oh yeah... I noticed in your original review the corolation to the show as well. This last post of yours is right on. What Happened? Weak ass weak ending to the show.

I've had this cigar and it is boderline absolute garbage. I think they might have dregged the hudson river for some actual sh!t to make this cigar. CAO is well known for there marketing scams and not quality. I mean just look at that new vision cigar you know that thing tastes just like a big ass doggy rocket. After having the soprano a little over a year ago I would'nt dream of being suckered by there magical marketing. Steer clear of any of CAO's new lines stick with the old less expensive line that we all think and know are decent smokes.

CWS, I know my tastes are different from many others but I do know that a lot of brothers feel the same. That thing tastes worse than some $2 sticks I've had or even $1.50 sticks for that matter. Hell an AF it's a boy is made with better tobacco. CAO just is a marketing machine period with there fancy humidors that they put these poop rockets in. The funny thing is that they are probably targeting very new cigar smokers who's palets haven't formed yet and these folks see this marketing and think high cost equals superior quality. BOOM! CAO just made some $$$... It's a shame because I sure as hell ain't ever buying any fancy looking crap like that again. I feel ripped off so I'm sticking with companies that I know consistently put out winning cigars and don't use some watered down seeds that have lost all of there potential for producing great tobacco leaves. Just my $.02 for what it's worth...

Its cool. I have tried two of them and really didnt get it. I enjoy many of their early cigars but not the last few.
