Well, as I look back on the last year an wonder where the hell all my cash is, I realized I have converted it into leaves. Anyways, I've decided to not purchase anymore cigars for the next 2 months. I'm going to try and get my bank account back up just intime for Christmas. Essentually here is my one and only rule: I cannot order any cigars fo myself between Sept. 1 through October 31. :crying:

I've never done this, so it will be interesting to see if I can hold firm with all the new sticks coming out.

I was worried when I saw the title you were going to quit smoking all together.:squinteye
My guess is your current stash will hold you over.

I know what you're going through. I am cutting back on my purchases too. I won't be completely giving up purchasing new smokes like you, but my purchases will be further and fewer in between.

I am finishing the rest of my basement and need to spend my cash on it instead of smokes. Oh yeah and that little holiday coming up called Christmas, three kids makes it an expensive holiday.

Good luck!
I went without buying anything for a couple months cause I wanted to see how much money I would save. The only thing is that when you go back to buying, you have this huge-ass pile of cash and you're like 'oh I can splurge just a little bit cause I haven't bought a box in forever!'. Ended up spending all the saved money in like a week and almost filling up a 50-qt. cooler!
Hopefully you have more self-control than I.

I have a great Idea for helping fellow BOTL's during the Christmas season. Buy gift certificates from Cigar shops, and give them to your children.

That way, when your birthday, Fathers day, etc., come around, your kids can get you the gift you treasure the most.

:)

Yes, that is not a problem. I have a Cabinet that is almost filled.

Good luck with that. You know what's going to happen... You're going to start finding ridiculous deals on stuff.

I hear ya man, I am in a similar boat right now. now I won't quit buying all together, but since I started about 10 months or so ago, I have bought well lets just say wayyyyyyyyyy too many cigars.
I pretty much gave up cbid, damn that was needed, I almost got 2 or 3 shipments a week for 6 months . the only thing I hate about that is that I have to use my AMEX for that.

Remember, I am a hairstylist and usually have a few hundred bucks a week in tip money that I don't mind spending on cigars, but right now I just decided to build up my savings and on top of that Nikon has just announced a brand new Digital pro camera that I have to have, so I am putting just about all my tips away so I can pay cash.

and also, I am saving up for my wedding next year in Maui, we are buying all the rooms for our families.

so I will be your buddy in crisis. No more cigar shopping, even if I am about to run out of tatuaje noellas and unicos......and cojonus..............

i am in trouble here

I keep the addiction at bay buying going to a weekly cigar tasting. It is $10/3-4 Cigars. It is enough to keep the bigger demons at bay by feeding them enough to keep from starving.

Good luck with that, I think I may have to do the same thing except extend that 2 months into more like 6 months.

LOL, I can help you out for sure to help your bank account get up there. Sell me all your good sticks and deposit the money in your bank account. I spend upwards of 1500 a month on smokes sometimes more. I need to finish my other cabinet to store them all in.

I can so relate to your dilemma. I have no willpower but certainly will be cutting back during the holiday months. I think my VISA card caught on fire recently does not help either.

That was my biggest concern, but I figure I should still be able to get them in November.

I'm on hiatus, too. Of course, I only decided to do that after buying about 500 sticks this summer... :skew:

Actually, I was just getting geared up to go on a buying binge when the Mrs. informed me we would be visiting the daughter in Europe this Christmas (ouch). :crytears:

At least i can pick out my own CCs and ship them to myself.

Yes I did. It was actually a good thing that I did this b/c my wife's car needed some work so I didn't feel a hit. Plus I purchased a box of PSD4 and Trinidad LE and a few sticks of the PL Robusto RE over X-mas, which was why I was saving for the first place. I did have to pass on the Monte Reserva because of the car though. Oh well, can't get everything.
