hey all. i introduced myself on the intro thread. well i had my first smoke today after going to a local cigar shop recomended to me by my manager at work.

i bought two cigars to start off with. after telling the owner of the store i was looking for something smooth and mild to start off he handed me a H. Upmann Cabinet Seleccion and an Arturo Fuente Chateu. i smoked the Upmann on the way home and it was as smooth as i had hoped for. though it was a long smoke. the Arturo Fuente is a little shorter and thinner that that so i will smoke that one over dinner with my fiance and i will report back with my experience.

You gave me one in the newbie sampler, probably one of my favorite smokes so far.

Fuentes are very good. It's where I began my premium cigar "hobby". Keep sampling cigars and try to keep a diary if at all possible. It will definitely help you over the first year in determining which brands to try next.

It's good to be able to smoke around your significant other too.

H. Upman is a good cigar as well. Will be pretty different from the A. Fuente. You should enjoy.
