Well if you count all types of tobacco.. mmm.. I was about 10-11.. the occassional try before then ..became a regular user of a Swedish product called wet snus.. (a wet tobacco that you mould with your finger to a small ball and have under your lip.. anyone seen any Swedish hockey players in NHL will know what I referr to)..

Cigarettes at 14..

Cigars at 16...

When I was about 10 we kept Beechnut chewing tobacco in the barn. We had a pony that like to eat it. I tried it one day but didn't know you weren't supposed to swallow the stuff. :smt078
I didn't smoke or chew anything else until I discovered the wildwood weed in 1976 at age 14. Gave it up at 19 and started chewing tobacco and smoking an occasional cigar at 20. I still use smokeless tobacco but dip the skoal type rather than leaf.

Cigarettes at the age of 12. I remember it vividly. My best bud up in up-state NY and I were out in his backyard in a tent-"camping out" during a visit and he busted out the Marlboro Reds. Coughed my ever-loving head off. Continued right up until recently. Still have one occasionaly when I get really pissed off at work (too many people here smoke, what made it so hard to quit.

Cigars, 20 something...sometime in college. Though true enjoyment from the leaf is a recent thing...before it was just something to smoke.

Chewing/ dipping at 12. Worked barnning tobacco and would get sick every day- the farmer encouraged me to start to get me used to the nicotene in my system. The sickness was nicotene poisioning- continued dipping until I was 31.
Cigarettes at 17- quit them totally by 21.

Cigars- first at 16, homemade while taking out a barn of tobacco- bad idea! Then again in my mid 20's

Pipes at 37.

First Cigarrette @ 16 When I started working at Kash 'N Karry. Had to have something to bleed off the stress of the idiots that would stand over and tell me WHAT ORDER THEY WANTED THEY"RE DAGGUM GROCERIES PACKED IN.

First "Cigar" @ 16 Discovered Black 'n Mild and Swisher Sweets...useta inhale 'em and think I was a hard case. Hated the horrid aftertaste. Or Maybe that was the cheap Vodka I drank....never could tell.

First Real Cigar @ 17 A Buddy of mine bought a travel Humidor and offered me a Fuente. Been Smokin' for the last 2 years.

Wacky Tabaccy- Never done this stuff. Never really wanted to. Had no problems with the people that did though (plus they were fun to prank when they were on the Stuff).

Started cigars in my 20's...Garcia y Vega etc. graduated to Macanudo and Partagas. Went to work for Evil Empire (PM) at 40 and since you got free carton of cigs once a week figured a few wouldn't hurt. Got up to two packs a day until around 43 and quit. Got into better cigars, CAO, Padron, Opus and then... habanos...never looked back. Now into the whole variety of NC and CC.

SMoked my first cigarette around 14 years old...one of those thin little Capris...stole it form my brother's girlfriend.

First smoke of contraband was around 19 years old

First cigar was a Royal Jamaica around the age of 20/21.

Pulled a 6 month stint in a cigar shop around the age of 23 and took up light cigarette, cigar and pipe smoking. Remained a light smoker of all 3 til last winter when i gave up my 1 to 2 cigarettes a day for cigars. Been going nuts with cigars for 7/8 months now.

Cigs regular about 19, quit 6 yrs ago at 42. Smoked maybe 6-10 cigars a year during some of that time.
Early this spring I started smoking a couple cigars a week, was introduced to a couple forums, then the devil site, and well, it's about 10 a week now.

My first CC was about 15 yrs ago, a Monte (4?) and it was the best cigar I have had to date. Close but never duplicated.

Started smoking Cigs during college, was 18 years at the time. Had my 1st cigar when I graduated from university 2004 was 22 years at the time. I smoked the odd cigar every now and then ever since but became serious last January when the Mrs bought a bunch of cubans as a gift for quitting cigarettes.

I started smoking cigarettes around 13 and didn't stop until June of 07.
Started the decline of illicit substances, general partying & drinking at about the same age & quit in September of 1999. That's right - ten years this month.

Back on point - My first cigar was a Back Woods that I snatched out of my father's hunting jacket when I was about 15 or 16, though I didn't really appreciate a cigar until a friend took me out to a fine Italian dinner one night in 2001? Afterwards he handed me a Cuban RyJ. I loved it.

I occasionally smoked a cigar (1-4 times per month). But after quiting cigarettes, my cigar obsession really took flight...

I started smoking cigarettes when I was 15, quit in 2003.

Had my first cigar in December of 2008 for Graduation, and was amazed, went to Corona a week later and had the guy pick me out a bunch of stuff, and he selected Tats, Riquezas, Illusione, Padron 1926, Liga Privada, LFD DL..... and that was it, I never looked back.

I'll add, since I see some extras: fags, I tried at 14 (yes Bob, I know what ye're thinking). Tried just one, loathed it. Never again afterwards. Hookah: 3 years ago, when 17; was interesting but not something I looked forward to, so have had it twice or thrice. Snus: 18 years of age. No like. Pot: 18 years of age. Didn't find it to be anything out of this world, so I haven't tried it since.

I started smoking cigars when I hit 18. Sneaked a few of my dad's cigarettes before that, never dug it too much. My uncle (the one that brags about putting sherry into my baby formula so I wouldn't cry - now you know how I got this way) bought me my first pipe at 14. I thought my mom was gonna murder him.

... still have that pipe. It's a Peterson, for chrissakes.
