It depends where I am when I am smoking. At work, its a Dr. Pepper, coffee or water. At home, its a glass or wine, port, aged rum or my new favorite George Stagg.

Coffee...or Diet Coke. I prefer not to smoke when having a libation...don't want one affect ruining the other.

Most of the time, I drink iced tea. I will on occasion have scotch, or Captian Morgan Private Stock with a couple of cubes.

I prefer dark beers and ales with a cigar, although spirits, especially cognac, can be pretty great also. I can't imagine drinking something sweet while I smoke.

In the morning is coffee with a mild/medium small cigar. Later in the day is almost always with just water so I can enjoy the taste without them being effected.

cognac is my 1st preference, but single malt scotch whiskey or a good irish cream will do

I find Coke (Regular not diet), if let to sit for a few minutes so some of the gas fades, is excellent with some of the cigars I had so far. Especially when going with a fuller or sweet type of cigar.

My opinion is to be taken with a grain of salt, becuase I do not have all that much experience, only been smoking a few months. I find that coke goes much better than water for example.

I always like my jack too... but I dont have that most days, since the majority of my smokes are on dog walks out in the street. Can't possibly smoke in my house.

Ever try Zaya Gran Reserva, or Ron Zacapa Centenario? I've been playing with rums for a long time...Guatemalan rums are, in my opinion, the best ever to grace my lips.

Enjoy,

The liquor stores in this part of the world don't carry either of those brands
da**it all to he**. I attempted to buy the Ron Zacapa, and was advised that none of their suppliers carry that brand. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. I even tried to buy it online, and Oklahoma is one of the states they will not ship too.

I'm a big Zaya fan! Always try to keep a bottle in the cabinet. Even took one down to the local B&M recently and turned them onto it. Can't find Zacapa around here at all though.

Yeah state laws say NO NO, so companies won't ship there, but as fellow BOTL, I would be willing to help you out if you needed something shipped in.

Here is where I would buy it, you might call and see if they will ship it, but if not, I'll hookitup.

They have good prices...never heard of that site. Both those bottles would run you around $40 (each) here in K.W.
Love both, but I lean more toward the Ron Zacapa. I drink it neat. But it also floats well ontop of a hand made Pina Colada. ;-)

Nice to see some Porto drinkers in here.....If you have never tried it you should give it a try. You only drink about 3 to 4 oz. in a small wine glass as the alcohol content is around 20%.
Oldglory is right on the money with the Tawny Port....good stuff.....

Is tawny a brand or style of fermentation or region where bottled or what?

Tawny is a brand of Porto, they also have Vintage, White, Ruby, I think that's it. Ask for a 10 year old Tawny Porto, if you like it, and you will, try the 20 year old Tawny Porto. They have older Porto's but they are getting up there in price. a glass of 10 year old Tawny Porto dining would be about $7.00. $10.00 for a 20 year. An open bottle will be ok for about a week, tops.....

Ok, I saw some At HiTimes, but was leary because it was so in-expensive. Like $12 or something. I'll pick it up next week.
