Last night, I went to Havanna Dreams.
Saw this in the shop, just got in stock, I bought 4, figuring 1 to smoke last night, and a couple to throw in the Humi. I could find them a dollar or 2 cheaper online this morning when looking, but I don't mind supporting my local shop/bar when I go.... Not to many smoke havens left, so I am ok with Rent Tax.
I sat down at the bar, had a coke, and started joining the conversation on the pats/chargers game. At first I was going to use my XiKar, but The cigar had a small cap, and I didnt want to risk messing with it, so I went with the punch instead, made a perfect hole, and took a couple dry puffs before lighting.
The cigar seems to have a sweet hint to it, which I thought was pleasant.
The cigar lit perfectly, took a moment, as it's a decently firm, maybe dense tobacco... I am not sure. The cigar felt perfectly constructed, except for what I thought might be a small plug towards the back, as well as this one larger vein that ran about a third of the cigar. IN any case, none of that seemed to effect the draw, which although just a tad tight, allowed for a nice full mouth of smoke, but not to overpowering.
The cigar tasted pretty good, and I had to conciously slow myself down to savor it a little more, as I watched the ash turn a gorgeous firm white with very little gray floating about. My first ash went I think 1 1/2 - 2 inches before letting it fall into the ash tray.
A little over an hour later, I had smoked maybe 2/3'rds of the cigar, and the burn, draw, and everything were still going strong.
All in all, this had been one of the more pleasant cigars I tried in that price range, which was a very pleasant surprise.
I think I may go buy a couple more, one for the weekned, and some more to join their brothers in the humi. If I enjoy another couple of them, I may consider investing in a box of these.
I am still just new at this, but in the end this was a much more interesting smoke than the RP Decade, and cheaper.
My only thought was I wish they had a smaller size, so I could enjoy a quicker version. This was a slow burning, long lasting cigar, that enjoyed all the way through.
