What is your favorite Pepin smoke?

Cuban Classic robusto (so far) for me.

It's a tie for me (I am still relatively new to Pepin's, under a year), either the Illusione 2 or the Tatuaje Noella although that Verocu is looking like edible.

Wow i had no idea that Pepin was involved with the Illusione, that stick does have his name written all over it though :halfgrinw

My favorite though is the Miami 8&11, shame it is getting discontinued :disappoin

Guess its time to stock up

FYI, I'm 99.9% sure that Illusiones are not rolled by Pepin. They have that awesome flavor profile of all the Pepins/Tatuajes, but Pepin is not affiliated with them.

I am with Tyler, I do not think DP is doing anything with Illusiones. There is no mention on there website with any link to him. But very good cigar.

JJ Maduro is my fav DP as of now.

unfortunatley i've only had a couple. I've got a stockpile of them, jsut haven't had the chance to try them all yet.

SO for me, it's the havana VI series. Those cojonu 2006 are looking VERY tasty though, as are the verocus, as are the 1970s, as are the...

Pepin has nothing to do with the Illusione. The Illusione is blended by a Cigar shop owner in Nevada by the name of Dion Giolito. They are made in the Raices Cubanas factory.

I stand corrected. Then it would be the Tat Noella and the Habana Leon (thanks for reminding me Chuck) I am gonna fire one up right now.

I haven't had the chance to sample very deep into the Pepin's yet. The first one I tried was the Tatuaje Havana VI Angeles, now it's my go to smoke. I tried the Cabaiguan Guapos and loved um, had to buy a box of those too. I have a Tat Unicos and Noella plus a 601 Blue and a Padilla Miami waiting for me in the humi to get over the flu. Almost afraid to try them, I don't have room for more boxes of smokes!!!

An update on the Illusiones. As mentioned, they are made in the Raices Cubanas (Cuban Roots) factory in Honduras. This factory appears to be owned by Tropical, who I believe Pepin worked (rolled?) for a while ago, or maybe still does. Pete Johnson may or may not have had cigars rolled there early on in the Tatuaje days. So I could see how they would be thought of as a Pepin cigar. Personally I think they have a very Pepin-esque blend.

Also, an update to my list, I really love the Tatuaje RC (Retro Cuban) line. They're the foil-wrapped 184 and 233 mm cigars, IIRC. I'm not sure if Pepin directly worked in these or not, but they're stellar smokes. If they were more affordable I would be smoking them almost daily.

I've only had the Cuban Classic Robusto. My local cigar shop didn't have any Pepins, last I checked, though they said they do stock them. Hard to find around here. I adored the one I had though.

I'm definately enjoying the 601 green "La Punta". Very unique Pepin blend in my opinion. I'm also a whore for El Centurion (Toro is prob. my fav.), DPG white label and JJ Maduro. Aw hell... I love just about everything that "The Don" gets his hands on...

I seem to always reach for something of his whether its a 601 a Tatuaje or one of his DPG cigars. If I was forced to pick one I think I would go with the DPG Blue Label Robusto or the 601 Habano Robusto.

I saw a couple Tatuajes at Stag the last time I was in there (probably mid-December?). They're on the right-hand wall when you walk in just past the Padrons. Kind of in that little nook that's behind the office in there. Might be around the Camachos???

Anyway, come up for the Front Range Herf and we'll hook you up with some nice Pepins!!!

I just had my first of these tonight. OMG. I love this thing. Blasted my palette out with the peppery start, then just exquisite to the nub.

'Nuther $200 box I'll dream about for a while. Have to see about some fivers...

Several weeks ago I kept eyeing them up and they were running around the $130-$140 area. Now they are the same price as all their other House Pepin blends.

I don't know, at a $180 I'm a lot less likely to pick these up.
