Just simply tips for better smoking. Ideas various people have come across (or started) to help them get more smoking pleasure from cigars. Most of us have a couple of tips already. Perhaps a "clearing house" for those ideas could give even more value to this site.

Don't put the lit end in your mouth. That's the best tip of all.

I was at work one day wrenching on a robot and almost stuck the lit end in my mouth. Luckily I had the ash somewhat long so I didn't get burned and realized what I was doing rather quickly.

Glad you did not say that you stuck the lit end in your mouth. For this was very funny, your having done that, especially had you gotten hurt, would have diminished its comedic value.

From http://www.cigaraficionado.com/Cigar/CA_Archives/CA_Show_Article/0,2322,1140,00.html:

In 1994, [Bill] Cosby was watching the ladies' figure skating finals in the Winter Olympics on TV, puffing away on an Ashton. Suddenly, Tonya Harding began to cry during her routine. No, Nancy Kerrigan hadn't just blasted her with a bazooka; rather, the problem was a wayward shoelace. Mesmerized by the drama, Cosby took his cigar, which he had placed in an ashtray, and stuck it in his mouth--ash end first. His tongue told him he had "instantly made a very serious mistake."

Ouch!
