Tat White Question

So I just finished a Tat White that Matt sent me and I have to say I thought it was pretty good, expecially for the price. Great draw and taste, just lacked the depth and complexity of the other tatuaje lines. Now I know it is 60/40 medium filler, but I was just wondering if anyone could explain the construction of these cigars any more than that. Is the medium just mixed in with the long leaf filler or what? Thanks again Matt for the generocity btw.

You are right, it is a blend of the long and short fillers (Left overs). It is not a true medium bodied cigar, but is good for the money. The binder is a lesser quality leaf than the Havana VI series, thus a slight flavor change. THese cigars go from $3 to 5 from different online retailers and B&Ms...

It is a good everyday smoke, cept I smoke the other Tats everyday.. hehe.

Not sure it's different tobbacco at all, just a "Cuban Sandwich" construction.

In a long filler cigar, each leaf is the length of the cigar, these are your typical premiums.
In a short filler cigar, leaves are chopped up and used to fill the cigar, these are your typical machine made cigars.
A Cuban sandwich is made with several long leaves and some scraps from making long filler cigars "sandwiched" in between the long leaves. These scraps are not shredded the way short filler cigars are made, they just are not full length or "Medium" filler.

They are a bit cheaper because they use the tobacco more efficently than long filler cigars, down side is you may get the odd one where the draw isn't as good as you would have with a long filler cigar. I keep my main humi at 70%, but find the Tat White smokes better if you dry them out a bit before you smoke them, or keep your humi at 65%. I keep a desk top humi at 65% for what I'm gonna smoke soon.

I like the tat whites, but like bill, i like the others better.

A friend of mine sent me a sampler of Tat Whites. Tried one and hated it. Put the rest away and came back a year later. It was a whole different cigar. It will never be the best Tat on the market, but with a bit of age, they are really good and nicely priced.

The Tatuaje White (Series P) is one of my favorites. Like others have mentioned the quality and depth aren't like they are for the other Tatuaje lines but they do make for a great every day Tatuaje smoke.

If you contact (email or phone) Atlantic Cigar I'm sure you will be more than happy with their box price (significantly less than other place online). They don't publish their box prices online.
