OK, I got an idea from Altercall’s HTF box pass for something like a PIF, but it’s not a PIF. I know there are some brothers here with some serious stashes. Most of us have some great stuff in multiples and are looking for some great stuff in singles that we don’t yet have. So this is intended to stimulate trades to help us expand our collections.
I’m not suggesting this as a PIF, because I think the kind of sticks we are looking for are not the kind that most would part with unless it is in a trade.
To play is simple, the tagged person (me to start with) posts some sticks they want and anyone who can offer up trades PM’s the person what they got and want. The person who is “tagged” can choose from multiple offers which deal they want and work out the details with the brother they intend to tag next.
Once the “tagged” person has scored something they wanted, they post “Tag [next person’s name] you’re it!” and that person posts their list of HTF’s. If you get multiple offers on different sticks and want to work out multiple trades that is fine. But please pick one trade, get it agreed upon, Tag that person as next and then work out the other offers. I don’t want people feeling they offered up a great trade to be next to post and then find out they don’t get to play.
Rules:
1. Be willing to offer up in trade sticks that are as costly and rare as what you are asking for. Many that will be listed here will be in very short supply and sell for well over MSRP. Trades work best here, if you’re one of those “I only pay MSRP for a stick” guys, then trade a stick you paid $15 for, but goes for $25 out in the world for a stick the other guy paid $25 for even though MSRP was only $15.
2. Trades are of course agreed upon by both sides, but the idea is that both parties should get something they want, not one person offering up a bunch of dog rockets for a couple of super primo’s from the other guy.
3. The Tagged person must Tag a single person before working out additional trades to keep things clear to all playing.
4. If the thread sits dormant for too long, it’s the responsibility of the Tagged person to get the thread moving again. That means add some easier to find sticks to your list, lower your trade expectations and settle on an offer or Tag someone without making a trade. Remember because you get to pick the trade(s), you can list whatever you want, making a small list of super rare smokes will only prevent you from getting offers on the many other sticks you’d like to have but haven't gotten yet.
5. If the people work out a buy/sell that is fine, but trades are best.
6. DO NOT ASK FOR CUBAN CIGARS on this tread unless you’re talking Pre-Embargo and clearly state so. Trade what you want through PM’s, it might be a way to offer up HTF NC to get some, but let’s keep this thread kosher for visitors.
