For me it is the chance to interact with other BOTL's about cigars. But also and maybe more so, talk and discuss things other than cigars.
There are some neat rooms here to talk about guns, liquor , and music.
(maybe a room for listening to music while drinking liquor shooting guns?..but that would not be responsible would it???)

What say you??

Well, for me it's pretty much the same thing. Though I'll never complain at growth of the site as that is always a good thing, I think the thing that brings me here so much right now is that we are still fairly small. I frequent three or four boards. I started at CW but I rarely do much but stop by the OCR over there to "discuss" politics. For the most part it's just too busy over there for me.

There is a wonderful core group of folks here and I really enjoy getting to know everyone. That's a lot easier here. So I guess it boils down to: the people.

I would have to say my reasons are very similar to both of yours. I initially started at CA, but got sick of the stupid whining and in-fighting. I found CW, and though I enjoy posting and reading some of the posts on that board, there is a lot of meaningless posts that don't have anything useful to read in them.

Though I've not fallen victim to the darkside, I enjoy the information on this board. I also enjoy the smaller group of brothers and the overall better conversation/post topics.

This is one of many boards I peruse daily while I "work". I definitely spend the majority of my time here because the size of the board suits me better and I like the people here.

I like many of You am a member of many boards. Some were Too small and too invasive, others were too large and scattered. I basicaly frequent 3 boards and most of the folks here, I recognise from all 3.

Each board has it's own timbre, it's own feel. These 3 are the ones where I feel most comfortable. I like the different rooms and the fact that it's NOT trying to be "All Things to All People" We've seen where that get's You.

I guess I am or have been a member of a dozen plus sites about tobacco(cigars/Pipes) but have refined it down to three. Funny how that works.

Cool!

I agree with the sentiments of those above..... I started at CA as well, got sick of getting flamed and eventually got "asked to leave"... found CW which i enjoy still not near as much as before but i still head there often....

I think that the thing that i like about here is the closeness... there is only a small group of people of this board that i have not dealt with and that i do not know... that sense of a community is what keeps me here time and time again....

oh yea and the knowledge is very good as well, i enjoy learning about ciagrs that i know nothing about..... i grow as a cigar smoker on a daily basis thanks to this place...

Like others have said, I enjoy the members on this board. Also enjoy the small family atmosphere...although I realize it won't always be like that.

This is the same progression I have experienced.(Except I have fallen victim to the darkside) No infighting here and a great group of people.

Personally i like the size of this board best, not to big (unfortunately my wife doesn't agree with that statement :hysterica ). The tone here is very light hearted & friendly with this make up of members. Also the freedom here to speak about our hobby and pastime with trading and vendors.

Another thing that brings me here is the moderation, or lack there of.

The 'revisionist history' that goes on at one of the bigger boards we all are members of is disturbing at best and down right disgusting most of the time. :shame:

I sincerely appreciate that the staff here does not impose their views or will into others thoughts and feelings.
