That's lame enough sounding, right?:grinFU:
I don't know about the rest of you, but I do a heck of a lot of my smoking while reading. So, how 'bouts a room to discuss reading material? Just a thought that popped into my head. I'll check back in on the poll in about 6 months, at the rate the other one's goning!:nodlaugh:

I'm all for YOU brothers having this forum, but I can guarantee there won't be much input from me. I read mainly sitting on the porcelin god each morning and thats about it! :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

I do my reading of books and periodicals, in the morning, in the Tripp family library, which the wife has declared a no smoking area. :nodlaugh: :smokingbo
i voted "yes", although my reading is online college courses (trying to use up my GI bill before it vanishes 10 yrs after i got out).
quick plug though, if you like military style stories with a lot of realism.
Leonard B. Scott wrote a handfull of great books about men in battle during vietnam:

i didn't care as much for his FBI based books (i think this guy went from being a ranger/lrsu officer to working in the fbi).
but, the hill; the expendables; charlie mike; the iron men - they're all kick ass books.
i hate reading, and i mean HATE it, but this guys stuff i could not put it down.

If I have a cigar In my mouth, I usually have a book In my hand.

Outside of work, I don't get much of a chance to read. If I get a smoke in, it's usually out in the backyard after the sun has gone down. So, I also doubt you'd get much input from me.
I'm down.
my understanding is reading "material" doesn't necessarily mean "book". Just another appealing feature for the board.

Yeah, Ashy. I wanted to leave it open. Books is where the idea started in my head, but there's always conversation regarding magazines and such as well.

I think it's a great idea. I love to read but I have a hard time finding good books when I'm just milling about the bookstore. I used to work with a lady who belonged to a book club and she'd tell me what they were reading and it lead me to some real good books. Since then I just kind of do the luck of the draw thing when I pick one up at WallyWorld or somewhere.

What about a good book/good smoke pass? It'd take a LONG time, but read the book, take a smoke(s), add the amount you took, pass onto the next guy on the list. I recomend fight club by chuck palahniuk, it's amazing. Anywho, I'm always up for a good read.

Whew...that would be a loooooooooooooooooooong pass man. Not a horrible idea, but you might want to keep it small to keep to keep things moving. Cigar Jack has a running "Book and Cigar PIF" running on the "other" site.

In that PIF different books are passed around, not the same book.
I couldn't commit to reading a whole book in any sort of timely manner with the preggo wife and toddler running around.
