am i the only one that does this? i saw the reference to the Padilla 1932s in the deals thread, and read a bunch of reviews of the stick. after reading reviews and seeing that it was listed quite often in the 2008 want list thread i ordered a box. i've never even smoked a padilla! :scratchhe

The Padilla 1932's are great sticks I don't think you will be dissapointed.

However, I would recommend trying the stick before purchasing a box in the future!

I don't think you're the only one who does this there are a lot of sticks for one to try and if we stuck with those we've already tried we would never discover any thing new. With that said the reviews people post are a good reference point for sticks we might be on the fence for or some thing we've always seen in the shop but never thought about trying.

Buying for the good deal. That's starting to get in the territory of a woman's mentality at a mall. "but honey look how much I saved" Don't mention the fact she "saved" that $40 by spending $200.

I buy boxes like this sometimes, but only if I had desire to do so already. The fact there's a sale definitely makes the urge stronger. I've been good lately and have not bought anything since October!

I have never ordered a box like you. But was Just on Holts web site and was ordering a 20 ct 4 sampler from there High noon yesterday. Pepin Blended house brand at 35 percent off plus free shipping. I got as far as all my info in plus adding another Pepin master house sampler went to click add payment and clicked off holts web site. Really didn't need them and just thought I saved myself another hundred bucks.

I did that a bit when I first started buying cigar, picking up a lot of "good deals" on CBid. I ended up with a lot of cigars that I didn't really want or need. The Padilla 1932 is a good stick though, and if you don't like them you can easily sell or trade the rest.

My first couple of purchases were boxes. I won't make that mistake again! It's easy to post an ISO thread asking for a trade or buy a couple of cigars you are thinking of buying.

I can see why you did buy the box though, but tastes are subjective. There are an awful lot of people that smoke Backwoods & Black & Milds, but you won't see me smoking them.

I just bought a box a Tat Noellas and padron Londres with out ever smoking either of them. I know plenty of people who have similar tastes as me, so I wasn't worried about it. I was right yummy.

I did as well when I started getting in to cigars. If I find a deal where I get the cigars at $2 or under I would sometime buy it. But now a days I only buy a box if I really like the cigar.

that was my thinking. $12 sticks for about $4 a pop seemed to be worth the risk. 5ers are generally going for $40 on cbid. and if they're not to my liking, i figure it can always be used as ammunition! :assaultri

guilty, but more on the LE stuff I'm afraid I'll miss if I don't jump on it than seeing a bargin.

I did the same thing on a 20 pack of Padilla 1932 Lanceros. they were the Pepin blended ones. I got em home lit it up and hated it! I will never buy boxes again, unless I have tried them first.

Oh I have done the same thing more than once. If your doing that with something not many people post about or like you might get stuck with the box. If you buy something a lot of people post about or like, you can post them for sale if you don't like them.

The ISO (in search of) to buy a 5 pack or various vilola of the same mfg is a good way to go. Offer to start a box split with people to lesser your cost burden. If you like them, then buy the box. Happy smoking.

I'm hearing a lot of that "I'll never buy a box unless I've tried one" from the choir. Wonder what will happen when the Drac comes out? Still singing the same tune?

Dude I love the 1932s in both sizes I have (lance and rob). Don't get nervous. Plus like they said if you don't like them you will easily be able to unload them considering you got a great deal on them.

Difference is the starter of the thread never even smoked a Padilla but bought a box based on other peoples comments. Most if not all that bought the Frank when release or when the Drac comes out love the other items that vendor produces so there is little risk buying something they already like.

I bought a box after only trying 1 stick and been disappointed. Still hoping the sticks age into something like the 1st one I tried. Of course, I've done this with a different box and been well pleased. If you don't like the Padillas, I'd be in line for a 5er or two.

I bought a box of the Padilla's also, and am looking forward to recieveing them. What I think adds some drama to the 1932 is where are they rolled? New ones are not rolled by Pepin, and the Padilla factory in Miama has not started rolling yet (end of 1st quarter I'm told by Padilla).

They are currently being made in Hoduras or Nic. I hope with the same wrapper and blend. But we'll see.

I have to admit I was somewhat dissappointed to find out that my new Padilla Miami are not rolled in Miami.

The Padilla 1932 I just won on CBID look amazing (haven't smoked one yet). If the box of 1932 I recieve look as good, I'll be happy on delivery day (and looking forward to lighting one up).

I am only against buying full boxes if either ye have no idea as to what to expect because ye have yet to try any from the brand or blender, or if ye're just starting out and yer best bet is to try as many as ye can. However this is mere advice, not to be taken as law. That said, of course I'll have the Drac if I can!

They are a good stick, but if you don't like them let me know I will take them off your hands.

at least i'm not the only one. i think that i have OCD a bit. i just started smoking cigars seriously a 1 and a half months ago, and i've already filled a 125 ct humi and just received a 16 bottle wine cooler yesterday. :help:
