Who had the Palio cutter? I think I want one now after trying it.
I'm pretty sure it was Todd's. Very nice cutter.
Let me know if you can't find one online. Last time i was at the local shop they had them.

Yeah, mine was floating around. Vipe bombed me with it back in like February.

Well I found them for $40 http://www.famous-smoke.com/cigars/search/accstats.cfm/inum/14089
On club stogie a guy posted and said they were going to re-release them in the US again, which would be promising.

Well the site is, but from what other people said most places that used to have it stocked ran out and couldn't refill their stock. Who knows how many that site has left... but if they do come out with new ones then maybe they will be easier to find and cheaper.
They have them at my local shop for i think 40, i'll check there.
I have 2 Palio cutters and love'm!

True. Someone purchased the company and is going to start producing and distributing them from the US.

Nice, more pics! Still smackin' myself for not bringing mine along. And yes, that Palio is a great cutter. $30-40 seems to be about the norm for it. I'll have to pick one up at some point.

What is the advantage of the Palio single blade design compared to an Xikar Xi or Xi2?

The Palio is actually a double blade cutter, made of surgical steel that has a "self sharpening" patent.

Sorry Vipe and Todd...didn't mean to hijack the thread with my cutter question!

I have a rosewood Xicar that I like a lot as well.
The description in the link posted above called it one of the finest single blade cutters...
Is there another model that is double bladed?

Nope, but the owner lives outside San Antonio. Jack (cigartexan), do you know Mr. John Sheerin?
I'm betting Famous Smoke has always used 'single cutter' in their description. I tried pulling it up via web.archive.org but turned up nothing...

I know for a fact that there is no single blade design. Also heard there are a few surprises in store for the new Palio's ;0).

Hopefully one of them is a price drop. I love my Palio, but $40 for a plastic design like Mark said is pushing the pricing threshold IMO. MSRP $30/ea or $50/pair would rock my socks.

And hopefully some color options or somethin. The plastic isn't cheap though, its pretty heavy duty compared to the cheaper cutters. An all metal one though might be pretty swank.

Wish they had the double blade and came in a nice metal finish.
