Smoked this nice looking lonsdale to toast my new job. This particular sample came from Plush. (Many thanks!) I definitely made a good choice!
Pre-light: Oily, dark rusty-brown wrapper with some small to medium sized veins. Solid feel all along the cigar's length. Aroma of cedar, mild spices, and aged tobacco.
First 1/3: Smooth and easy draw with lots of smoke. Medium body + strength. Creamy flavors of wood, mild pepper / spices, and leather.
Second 1/3: Draw is excellent and the burn is at a constant 45 degree angle. It's consistent though. Body is up to the med-full range now. Strength is still a solid medium. Flavors were very complex and changed several times. First I was getting a blast of spices, then it changed to a creamy leather / wood flavor, then a very unusual black tea, maple syrup, and rich tobacco flavor cropped up for awhile. Really nice!
Last 1/3: Body is getting very close to full now. Draw and burn continue to be good. The complexity seems to settle down now and the rest of the cigar just maintains a rich and creamy flavor profile. Smoked this down to just past the band where it went out on it's own.
Overall an excellent smoke. This was my first Illusione, but it won't be my last.
