Prelight - This is a very well constructed 5x44 cigar with a beautiful dark corojo wrapper. Slightly box pressed with very few veins. Clipped the double cap and the prelight draw was on the loose side with a very woodsy taste with hints of oak and cedar with a bit of spice to it as well.

First third - The cigar started off nicely with a heavy oak/cedar flavour. A bit of a peppery burn on the tongue but not too present. The spice is a bit in the background, with a hint of chocolate to it. Burning pretty solid so far, and the draw is good, producing large amounts of smoke per puff. The oak/cedar mellowed a bit within the first third quite nicely.

Second third - As I get in to the second third there is a small burn issue that appears to be a small soft spot in the cigar, but for the most part still drawing pretty well. The woodsy taste has faded a bit and a sweetness is starting to come through. Retrohale is very cedar/pepper at this point. Ash is holding on for a little over an inch before falling off.

Final third - The burn has straightened out and is back to a nice even burn with an excellant draw. The sweetness has faded away and delevoped a slightly coffee flavour to the finish. The woodsy flavour is still present as well. Strength has picked up as well during the final third. Took a little over an hour and 20 minutes to nub this sucker.

All in all I enjoyed this cigar, it had a bit of an oak taste throughout the cigar and would seem to pair well with a nice glass of Scotch. The heavy woodsy flavours that were upfront slowly faded in to the background developing in to a well rounded smoke. A few small touchups were required during the second third but nothing major outside of that. I would put this towards the upper end of medium body and strength, very close to full during the final third. Thanks to Tim(podman) and Drew Estates for giving me this cigar as part of the swag packs they gave out here.
