the sad thing is most of his pipes sell withing min of them being posted on his site.
last year at chicago he sold out 25 pipes at the airport before he got to the actual show.
they had a group there waiting to meet him.

Mr. Roush does have some fine pipes ... but way out of my comfort level as far as prices.
I'll stick with Brian Ruthenberg (http://www.briarart.com/). I only have one of his pipes, but from the first bowl it was one of my best smokers.
For truly artistic / unique shapes, I don't think anyone beats Atelier Rolando (http://www.atelierrolando.com/all_archives/Archivehtmls/Arch_Bluewhale.htm) or Trever Talbert (http://www.talbertpipes.com/). I'd be proud to own any of their work.

I too own 2 ruthenbergs and Brian is a Personal Friend of mine and my wifes.
I have the 4th pipe brian had ever carved and the first of its shape and blast.
I also had him make me a custom shape when Asher was born in 2002
I hope to post some of my pipe pics for you all to see.
I would love to own a talbert morta pipe or one of his haloween pipes.
most of my pipes are Boswells and mid level pipes from people I know.
I try to get one pipe from every Carver I meet at the pipe shows or are friends with.
Its nice to see Brians work become what its is today!!
I am proud to own a early piece!
How do we post pics here.
I would love to show you the shape I designed and had Mark Tinsky Carve for me.

Dang man, the first two are really hard to see but the third is nice.
Do you guys prefer the feel of the rustifide/sandblasted bowls over the smooth ones?

I often wonder what Trever was smoking when he came up with the designs for some of his Halloween pipes. He's kind of like the Stephen King of pipe carvers.
Those are some nice pipes Stephen. I like the bent ball shape. I'm not much of a Hawkbill fan, but I do own one small Castello in that shape.
Here's (http://www.briarart.com/0125text.htm) the Ruthenberg I own ...
And the rest of my collection (http://galleries.cigarweekly.com/tedski/album01)
I do favor carved / sandblast finishes ... but I do own several nicely grained smooth pipe as well.

Believe my Dad has some of the older pipes before the prices skyrocketed on those. I'll have to ask him.
