I decided to do my first review last night. I took notes but didn’t get to finish the review until today. I picked out a Padilla 1932 Churchill- the new blend. I have smoked several 1932’s in several different sizes. I have thoroughly enjoyed the blend.

Pre-light inspection the cigar is tightly packed with one noticeable soft spot. The cigar smells of muted raisins/nuts. The foot had the same smell but amplified. The pre draw produced a sweet tobacco taste with no spice. When my lips left the wrapper they had a tingling feeling to them.

After lighting the cigar by toasting the foot and blowing on it; the first draw produced a mellow semi sweet char flavor, which tasted amazing. The draw was a tad tight, but will not be a problem. The next several puffs continued the same flavor profile. The burn started to burn a little uneven but not horrible. It produced a medium amount of thin smoke.

After about 10 min the flavor turned into a sweet nutty tobacco loosing the char flavor. At this point the burn has evened out. At this point I decided to exhale through my nose because everyone seems to do this. After doing this I picked up an intense burning sensation with no flavors. I’ll have to work on this technique a little more.

At 20 min I started to pick up a slight pepper and the smoke become thicker. I started to puff quicker to see if I could get any other flavors. It kept the same flavor profile but with more pepper that was very enjoyable. As I continued to puff quicker I got a small brief bitter taste that prompted me to slow down my puffs and it went away.

After a little over an hour the flavor continued with a sweet spicy tobacco flavor with the nut flavor falling to the background. This flavor stayed until I put the cigar down. I ended up putting this cigar down after about 2 hours. I put it down earlier then I usually would so my wife wouldn’t get mad.

In conclusion I thought this cigar was very good with flavors of sweet nut and tobacco and picking up a little pepper after 20 min. It was not overly complex but was very consistent.

One of my favorite Padilla's. Pretty decent smoke.

This is a very good cigar and always has a place in my humidor. The Old Blend was pretty good, too.
