A 3/4 to 1/2
B I nub most good cigars down to about a inch. Maybe I'm just cheap.
C I have been known to get down right crazy close to the end. My personal best was about a 1/4 inch

1) I try and get into the 2nd third to find any improvement. If none, I chuck it right away.
2) Generally within 2-3 inches of the end
3) About the same. If I am not noticing an increasing amount of nicotine, I may take it to nub. I can count the cigars that I've done this with on one hand though.

1) Depends. Most times I give it a few inches to see if it turns around, but sometimes I just don't have the patience.

Toothpick I've never tried that but I find a leatherman is a mighty fine cigar tool you can trim the head off, poke a little hole in a bad draw cigar with the small screw driver and hold it too.

A Not long at all, less than 15-20 minutes worth.
B Till I run out of time or changes for the worst.
C If gets bad, I tend to smoke too long waiting for it to get better.

A cheap/bad cigar, well, lets just say I'll still smoke it untill it's the same length as a mediocre cigar.

All depends on the taste and how good it is. Usually at least to the band.

A not so good cigar I give it the benefit of the doubt for about half of it and if it doesn't turn its time to toss it.

Any other cigar I smoke till it doesn't taste so good anymore or my fingers get too hot.

I am not big on nubbing. Normally I will smoke it within a couple of inches of the end.

I make sure that I smoke a special cigar at a time I know I will not be rushed so I usually go a little further than my previous answer unless the stick is not doing anything for me.

Doesn't matter what type of cigar. I smoke each one until I stop liking the flavor, even after purging. Sometimes that's a couple of inches from the head, sometimes it's down to the point where my fingers get too hot to hold it.

I smoke each one until I stop enjoying it.

So, for
(A) I usually will only get into it less than a third of the way and then I know it's not doing its job and gets tossed. No sense wasting an hour or so of your day on a bad cigar.
(B) Usually down to around two inches or so
(C) Close to the fingers.

I'll purge it when it gets down towards the band, but only do it once. When it tars up after the purge, it's gone. I don't like the heavy nicotine taste at the end, so it's a rare smoke for me that goes too low.

Most everyone's answers seem to be very similar.

Similar to what others have said. I had an exceptional cigar recently. I smoked it down until I could barely hold it. I didn't want to put it out!
