Does your wife have any idea how much money you spend on cigars each year and what would she do if she found out???

Personally, I think I would probably singing soprano the rest of my life.

She knows exactly what i spend on everything. Even gets bummed when i can't do this, or buy that, because theres often not enough to go around.

Other people we know spend all their money going out drinking, or on hotel rooms screwing other people, so i guess in contrast, my hobbies ain't that bad.

We both know what each other is spending, mostly because i handle all the money (so i can see what she spends), and i tell her when i buy something.

She actually encourages me to purchase things, but since i know the $$ situation, i usually never can afford to..

but all in all... we both know.

No wifey here, the girlfriend knows but can't say anything about it. By the time I get married, my cigar collection will be so stupid that the wife-to-be must accept it as is (that's my plan anyway).

It's not always like that. My wife doesn't like me smoking cigars, but doesn't say anything about what I spend. Maybe it's because I buy about a box a month and it's not too bad. But she offered to buy me this

I also believe in a "Don't ask, don't tell" policy. My wife doesn't really spend any money (at least not as much as I do). I handle all of the money/bills so my wife never sees any of the cost of things I purchase (e.g. guitars, cigars, music, etc...). I guess that she doesn't care too much as long as we still follow are "rules". I've always believe that you pay yourself first (savings & retirement), then the kids (college fund), then pay cash for everything else (no rolling credit card debt, both cars paid off, 12 years left on house). I turn forty this year and it has worked well so far...

The wife has never asked, and I'm not sure if she really has a clue as to much $$ I have tied up in inventory. I think she would s*#@!! I made the mistake once of telling her how much a bottle of Walker Blue Label was and now cannot bring one home for that reason. I could, but it definately would not be worth the bitching.

By the time I ever get a wife, I am hoping that I will have brainwashed her enough that I will be able to continue smoking and buying.

Although, to tell the truth, that is on the low end of the scale....
If God's willing, and the river don't rise, I'll have a woman brainwashed enough that an open marriage and seperate vacations will be the issues instead of cigars. :)

Ha! Funny thread, nice topper.

My decent into the sickness ;) is still in the infancy stage. So right now when packages arrive she's still pretty easy going and okay with it.

Yesterday one arrived and she was like "MORE cigars?!" but she had a smile on her face so I think it's still all good. I think it helped when I showed her it was the butane I was expecting last week....

I do have 2 more packages arriving late this week or early next week....If they show up on Monday I'm golden cause I get home before her that day and can intercept the mail.

All in all, I think she's on board with the hobby for now.... come to think of it, last weekend we were at a family function (her side) where she was telling everybody how she bought me a humidor and now I'm obsessed with buying cigars....get this, you guys'll get a kick out of this one, she said: "He's got like 75 cigars!!!" As in, she can't imagine needing to have 75 all at once....

sheesh. Maybe I AM in trouble....

I currently have my 2 coolerdors, my desktop, and my 2 large travel humidors at the GF's apartment cause I spend all my time there. It's not so much that she's mad about how many cigars I have, but more about how often I smoke them. Which is bullshit, cause I smoke maybe 4 times a week at most.
I'm getting a house soon and I'm building a walk-in. It's gonna be sweet. Prolly build it on a small (like 2") platform and make it so I can take it down with relative ease cause I'll move when college is over.

My soon to be wife likes wine. So while I'm traveling to different countries I will buy a bottle or two of wine for her. That way she gets something and I have my cigars. It seems to be working thus far. However she does not know how much I've spent while here in Turkey and does not know about the two coolers I have full of boxes. She'll find out in Sept when I send them home in the mail. My tactic here was to just get the "what the hell?" reaction once instead of time and time again when more and more boxes show up.
