Anyone getting anything firearm related for Christmas, Hannukah, etc?
Not for me, so I'm looking to live vicariously through everyone else.:stretchgr

I never understood the fascination for guns. Cigars, yes guns no.

I bought a nice hi precision bore sighter for myself, then gave it away as a Christmas gift. My Adjustable Sights (http://www.precisionsights.com/spr.html) for my P229 came loose a while back, so now it needs some resighting. I also have been looking for a 30" skeet bbl for my Franchi Alcione T shotgun for several years, and still no luck. So ... no firearms fun this holiday.
The fascination for firearms is the same as it is for cars. There's a sense of power, control and machismo. Knowing we can blow something up, tear it apart or leave something in total chaos is comforting to the male ego. It's second only to knowing we can build anything out of anything.
I've been looking at pistols lately too. I want one that uses a CO2 cartridge, not the spring fired one. But I also don't want to spend more than $20 on one. My son and I would actually do something together with them if we both had one. But I wish the small cartridges were refillable.

No firearms purchases for me for Chrismas. Had my fun in May when I purchased the Desert Baby Eagle in .40 S&W.

Those full Desert Eagles are huge. I fired one once. Wow.
My son is getting a Softair weapon (the kind that shoots plastic BBs).
Those little BB's hurt! (I wouldn't know from firsthand experience) I shot my dad with one from about 20-25 feet away and it left a welp  Needless to say he wasn't too trilled with it :headroll:
I'd have beaten you to a bloody pulp if you'd have done that to me! No wait, I'd stick a Swisher in your mouth and made you smoke the whole thing!

I'm hoping for a Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle........... :gangfire:
Sorry! I couldn't pass that one up.

 I see my dad is more patient, whereas you would not have been :bouncetau

Actually I order a Springfield Armory 3" sub compact yesterday. It caught my attention and I had to have it Linky (http://www.springfield-armory.com/prod-xdpstl-sub-compact.shtml)- shrugs-

I think if I mention getting another firearm, my wife would club me to death (in my sleep) with a shotgun. She'd think about shooting me, but wouldn't want to disturb the neighbors. Although I could use another single action .357 Beretta. You need two for Cowboy action shooting. Also a Browning Citori shotgun for sporting clays. It's a must have on any gun nut's Christmas list. Oh, and a suppressor for the .40 Glock, eventhough the license and supressor would cost more than the gun. :bangbang:
I appologize. I wandered into a Dear Santa letter. The answer is no, I'm not getting any gun stuff for Christmas. :disappoin
This year is woodworking tools.

getting the .40 XD9802F with XML
I live in CT, to get your state permit is not easy. Once you get your permit the only way you can carry is concealed.

Santa Claus is brining this happy lil' Scout a P14-45 to take over to the desert with me, paperwork is already filed with my controlling unit:bangbang: Something about having to rely on a 9mm to drop somebody with a C4 vest on makes me a little nervous, I'd rather send 231grains at him than 147....We're taught (unofficially of course) to '3 shot drop', 2 low, 1 high (use your imagination), but I have a feeling if I'm ever in the situation, I'll be going for slide lock....
Santa brought misses TC something sparkly and set in gold, and also a 4" SAXD in 40cal....(shhh, she doesn't know yet :santa2)

Ick. Those springfield XD's don't do ANYTHING for me. :dunno:
P14-45, nice choice TC.
Springfield XD? Aren't those made in Croatia? It's probably best to cancel that order and just spring for a Glock. :bangbang:

To behonest I'm sure not where they are made. I get everything at cost(family member is a dealer), so I figured I would add it to my collection. I have 9 Glocks already and don't really want another one. As for the para-ordnance, I picked up a couple of those over the past few years.
On a public level most civilians don't wear vests, so a 9mm or even a 38 would be sufficent in an emergency situation. However, you have to always be prepared for the unknown.
I see. If your getting it at cost you probably shold get a Les Baer or a Wilson Combat or just anything ornately engraved and nickle plated. :glassesgr

I think the XD originated in the Czech Republic, but I could be wrong ;-) It's happened once or twice..

I tried the XD when I was looking in May, and I don't know if it was just that it was new or what, but the gun just didn't fit comfortably in my hand. I also tried the Glock 23, which was better, but still didn't fit. There was a Kimber at about the $600 price point which felt great and had incredible balance, but it was about $150 above my budget, so I got the .40S&W Baby Eagle. Not too bad of a gun for the money, but I really need to get out and shoot more.
Part of the XD and Glock not fitting right might be my being left handed and also having small hands (hey, at 5'3" the sizing division was only working in certain areas). I couldn't work all the features on the guns without having to cross my right hand over occasionally.
