Wireless network help!!!

So my desktop, and just my desktop, likes to show that it has an excellent connection to my home network, but the connection is a phantom and I have to go into network support and repair the wireless adapter pretty much once every few hours. . . is this a hardware problem? I've done spybot, AdAware, and AVG scans to look for anything software wise. . . please help! this is effin' annoying!

What drivers are installed for your adapter?

What client manager are you using?

Do you have VPN connections?

Do you have network bridge(s)?

Everything I'm using is Wireless G Linksys.
I'm using XP Service Pk. 2 with auto update
Drivers are factory drivers from Linksys that came with PCI adapter
Client Manager?
VPN?
No network bridges.

Updating the drivers is almost always a good idea. Uninstall old first and then install new.

Client manager is the program that handles the wireless connection. It may be that the builtin Windows manager and the Linksys manager aren't getting along

That's a good idea I'll look on the linksys site and see if there are any updates to the drivers.
The software that came with the PCI card has a client manager built in. I don't like it as much as the windows client manager, but I can see if using it helps.

I'm not real sure. . . I started using the linksys client manager and then got tired and went to bed. . . woke up and started using my Lappy until it was late enough to call you. . . Expect a call soon, I'm getting some work done right now
