Have A Cigar is my personal favorite song on that album....for that matter it's my favorite song out of any of Pink Floyd's. But that is a terrific album...I also agree it's better than Dark Side of the Moon.

Definitely one of my favorites! First PF song I ever heard was "Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict" I was hooked!

I thought I was the only one who liked or even knew of this song, I need to get this album (yea I've got it on an album cause I'm an old fart) to disc.

Wish You Were Here is an awesome Pink Floyd album but I think Dark Side of the Moon is better, It's a tough call though. I've seen Pink Floyd a couple times once with Roger Waters and once without, both were great sshows. The first with RW was better mainly because it was not in a Stadium.

So David Gilmour says that once he finishes up his latest solo project and related tour, Pink Floyd could likely reunite with Roger Waters for an album and tour. It sounds like it's pretty shaky ground, but it also looks like a lot of fences were mended after the Live8 reunion last July.

Anyone else ever try the Darkside / Wizard of Oz thing?

No I haven't yet but I have heard from many different people that it works.

have tried it. it does work.

but not for the entire movie, still cool none the less.

When I did it it worked almost the whole movie. There were times that it seemed like every other line would sync up. The first time through the album it'd be one like the next time through the next line would sync up. Freaky!

I'm really glad to hear that there may be a tour, being a youngin' I've seen Roger Waters, but never Pink Floyd all together. I just about cried at Live8, I figured one of them would die before they reunited.

I've been to two PF concerts. One with Waters (Animals) ... and one without (Division Bell). Both were awesome.

Surprizingly, I've never tried the WOZ thing.

I've done it and it is really freaky for the first run of the album, the second run of the album (disc for you youngin's) didn't match as well, could be my timing....

You can also do Rush 2112 to Willy Wonka, it works pretty good.

A Roger Waters song from Ummagumma, IIRC?

Same era,but I was hooked by the bass line in, "Careful With That Axe, Eugene"

Somewhere I have a video of PF on American Bandstand with Syd.

Favorite line from Welcome to the Machine was, "And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?

Wow, didn't realize there were so many PF fans here.

I have a pretty wide range of stuff on CD, and have been trying to find stuff on LP whenever possible. The only one I found worth purchasing was an original Japan release of "The Final Cut" including all the liner notes and sleeves. (I'm trying to find one of the 2003 reissues with the extra track on it).

Did anyone manage to get one of the 30th anniversary copies of Dark Side of the Moon on vinyl? It came out in 2003 as both SACD and vinyl. I have the 20th anniversary CD, along with a lot of their live stuff too (including that cool box for Pulse with the flashing LED).

I missed going to their tour for Division Bell in '94 thanks to my parents not wanting me to drive to Chicago myself (I was a junior in high school). It would be impressive to see them live if a reunion were to happen.

(Oh...and Rush is another one of those I would like to see before they call it quits)

I'm going to have to try that. . . I really hate Rush, but Willy Wonka is my favorite movie of all time!

For those who haven't seen it...

If your really talking album do you remember the original celophane covering?
I purchased the all deep blue cover and as I cut and opened the wrapper the picture shown in this thread revealed itself. Great effect anytime you can remember unwrapping something 30 years after the fact.
