Went to the gunshow this weekend at the Expo Center and came home with this:

Romanian AK-47. 7.62 x 39. 30 round mag.

Nice purchase! I own a few Chinese Mac90's in 223 and 7.62x39. There is a worldwide shortage of 7.62x39 due to many factors in the Middle East; US arming the Iraqi police and army, Iran and others stockpiling, etc. It's being bought as fast as Russia and others can make it.

Great minds think alike, I guess. I just got a Romy, too. The wood isn't as nice as yours, and I have to get rid of that ugly red handgrip, but I virtually stole this gun, and got a few "extras" with it to boot. I've only put a few dozen rounds through it so far, but for an AK, it's quite accurate.
Ammo is a little hard to come by right now, but that will change shortly (I hope).

Does it have a stamped metal reciever, or is the the machined reciever? I could not tell from the pictures.

Hmmmmm........now that I think of it, if it is Rommanian, it was liscenced after they figured out how to manufacure the receiver without using 100 machinists and a 12 pound block of steel.

It is a sweet looking gun though! :)

After having so much fun shooting Davids gun yesterday I got home to a phone message telling me that there was a gun show in Leesburg going on today. So, naturally I went and lo and behold, one of the vendors had AK-47's.
So I got one.

Unfortunately I don't have a digital camera. It looks just like David's though. Came with two 30rd mags, cleaning kit in the stock, sling, flash suppressor, bayonet and sheath, canvas mag pouch and a little metal bottle that I assume is to hold gun oil.
