I have this posted on CW, but figured I'd post it here also.
I can get a great deal on a 5 lb bag of 5100 (ribbon cut red Virginia).
So please post here if you are interested and how much you would like.
The cost will be $1.45 per ounce + shipping.
Example = 8oz would run about $15.65, including Priority Mail shipping.

8oz. please (total, not in addition to what I posted on CW)
So, this is best aged for a while right?

Yes, it gets much better (smoother, sweeter, less bite) as it ages.
Good at 1yr ... better at 2 ... great at 4-5yr.

Dad,
We'l have to smoke some when you come down at the end of the month so we can compare the fresh tobacco to the aged version.
It smells like Fruit Roll-Ups to me. :dunno:

Sounds Good to me!!! I vacume packed a large jars worth with the "Seal-A-Meal". Worked good!! Solid in the new-used stand with humdor jar I bought for $4.

I think you want the air in there for ageing though...gonna have to let Ted shime in on that one.
I filled three pint sized jars to about the two-thirds level.

You don't want a total vacuum ... air is required for the aging process. The only thing I do is run my glass jars through a dishwasher cycle and then pack them with tobacco while they are still warm.
I'd split that pound up into 4 smaller jars. Leave one around for sampling this year and forget about the others. Then open one in 2007, one in 2008 and the last in 2009. Your patience will be rewarded.
