does the fuel you use give it a different taste?

Not with these higher end butanes. If you light with matches and don't let the sulfur burn off or a regular zippo, some say you will bring those flavors into the cigar.

What would you say about a lower end butane? I'm guessing little if any.

Used to use colibri, but found that is caused problems with my lighers. Switched to Vector and haven't had any problems since. Wasn't sure if it was the fuel or not, so used the colibri for one lighter for a few fuelings and it started to act up again. Go figure.

Hmm....maybe that's my problem. I had tons of problems with my Firebird that I used Colibri butane in. I've never re-filled the one I got a few months ago..I think I'll have to look into some Vector.

Lower end butane has a lot of garabage in it that will evetually clog you lighter. The higher end the more filtered it is.

Mark had a huge bottle of this (http://www.cigarmony.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=177) fuel at the herf and is has made a huge difference in the performance of my Xtend over the standard Xtend fuel.

I am buying a bottle today!

Tom,
I saw you "eyeballing" Geoffrie's Mega Pump - that would help you get through a can or two

Is lava still around? I'd would like to compare vector vs. lava

I tried contacting the company that distributes but it seems Lava's production is limited and unreliable.

I bought a case of Lava last year and I like it but I since have started using the Vector Quintuplus and there is no performance difference that I can tell and the Vector is a little cheaper and more readily available.
