Although the Barrett M107's are very nice ... simple design and very light weight :

There is something to be said about the old reliable Browning M2.
These workhorses have been mowing down "bad guys" for over 50 years.

I'm still split on which to get for "home defense" ... Opinions?

Had the pleasure of useing the Ma Duce (Browning M2) while in the Army. One of the simplest (mechanicaly), most devistating weapons I had the pleasure of using. If for some reason you cant hit your target with this monster, your going to scare him to death with the sound of this thing.

I prefer the Wind Runner or the AR50.....Barretts are too goddamned heavy!

Barretts rock, we used them for anti material in the USMC. If you have one of those you dont need a silencer. If you were in my scope you would be dead before the sound got to you.
