Any good programs out there these days? I just use torrents but I'd like something with a searchable function for specific tracks....

I hear pro has less viruses and spyware. They say the free one is a nightmare. I don't know to many people that have had good luck with the free one.

peer2peer really annoys the hell out of me because I don't download singles, and I don't like whats on the charts.
I subscribe to this: http://easynews.com and it works anywhere you can access a web browser and they don't share personal info, and unlike limewire or bittorrent etc you aren't uploading so you can't get busted.

Another  vote for usenet from me.
I use http://newshosting.com because they have unlimited bandwidth, have blazing speeds (as does easynews, I've used them too) and have really good retention rates.
http://newzbin.com is a good indexing site for usenet, and http://binsearch.info is also a good resource.

I have Spyware Blocker, Avast, Search and Destroy etc etc...and I've never had a problem.

E-mule is a great p2p client, and as a big bonus....there is no spyware involved.

Thats a good service too from what I have heard. I never use my 20G/mo with easynews and its only $10/mo so I went with it instead. Once I started using their web interface though I got hooked. You can take an mp3 album and check mark off the tracks you want, stick it in your "zip download queue" which automatically puts the files into one zip file. But thats not it, they also generate an m3u file so you can stream an album right from your account with winamp or itunes without even downloading it (great for using at work). Since its all web content you don't need any special software you just click click click.
