Vic’s post about smoking in Missouri made me realize that I had no idea about the smoking environment in Texas. I’ll be in Austin in mid September. Should I even bother packing my Caddy? Any cigar bars/lounges/B&Ms in Austin? What is the view on outdoor smoking? Appreciate any input…

It's Texas. They have gun racks.
There is a Texas crew that herfs out there. I know a cigar bar was posted on this site before but I forget what city it is in.
Look up scottsins here at BOTL. He'll give you the scoop.

Smoking laws are generally favorable here, except for in Austin and Dallas. The only places I smoked last time I was in Austin was a tobacco store (called Havana House, I believe) and on the river.

Yeah, it's a real pain in Austin. Unlike Dallas, you can't even smoke in bars in Austin.
