I got my BDC mug that I purchased from Brian today. Woohoo! #2!

A very nice mug with textured painting done by hand and looks nice in my hand to boot! I will be putting it to good use tomorrow morning. :thumbsup:

Brian, are these dishwasher safe? I don't want to chance to break mine before they sell out (which I predict won't be long).

Thanks for the compliments and response to the mugs! They've been so popular that I'm afraid demand has exceeded production. These are being fired as we go and each batch is a two week process. Boppa-Wasch got numbers 14 & 15 and I anticipated picking up the final 10 this week. Unfortunately, I spoke with Nancy (the potter) today and she told me that she can't get them to me until later this month or early December.
There are only 8 of this run still availabe and it looks like they'll go fast so if you'd like one please get your order in now for late November/early December delivery.

I'm working with Nancy on the design for the second edition and it will REALLY be bad-ass! Also, since these have been so popular I'm thinking of increasing the run for the second edition to 50 mugs.

Funny you should mention that. I'm working on a proprietary coffee of similar nature right now. It's designed to compete with the most expensive and rare coffee in the world, Kopi Luwak.
I've been feeding my dog Bear green Sumatra beans and collecting the "result". It'll be called Kopi Beardung. The first batch should be ready to roast soon. Who's feeling adventurous?

I hate to say it but before I got a blackdog mug I used a Starbucks mug. It's a nice mug too. Nice vibrant blue and very big, maybe around 18-20oz.

Any teases about the design of the new mug?

The SB is the 18-20oz. I fit 16oz in my blackdog, which is proclean and black.

I find "normal" coffee cups to be on average too small, I don't like to have to get up and pour another cup every 5 minutes. I drink almost a pot in the morning before work and have a couple of cups when I get home... and sleep just fine...

Too big of cup and it gets cold on me...

I was hoping for the dog...I can tell a lot of work and thought went into the mug though. Looks nice

Those are trees on the mug. Sort of an African looking baobob. They're kind of a signature thing of Nancy's. She uses it on many of her high dollar award winning pieces so I decided to incorporate it into the mug.
As for the dog, he's on there, on either side of the handle. Since I plan to offer special mugs as an ongoing thing I felt I'd need to vary the design to keep them interesting to customers and to Nancy as well. She's an artist and generally not a mug maker so I need to keep her artistically involved if I hope to retain someone of her skill and reputation. Knowing there were only so many variations I could do with the standard logo/colors it was obvious that I'd have to mix it up a little. I decided to do that early on rather than have a sucessive series of "logo" mugs. Mugs more like the first, but with some color/shape variation, will definitely be in the offing in the future. Meanwhile, these do seem to appeal to quite a few folks judging by the number that sold between last night and this morning!
