    Default Davidoff Special R

Smoke one recently at my B&M (sorry no pics available). A good looking stick with a smooth, fine veined wrapper around 5" long with a 50RG I'd guess.

Started off with a lot of cedary spice. Not sure if this is part of the cigar's profile or if I got an enhanced cedar flavour because I used cedar strips to toast and light the vitola. The first third was spicy and cedary and started mellowing towards the second third of the stick.

Around the second third the smoke mellowed down picked up little hints of spice and cedar but a more dominant straight forward tobacco flavour came through. The smoke seems to get milder as I smoked it with a solid white ash. Ashed itself around the half way point and about now I am some what bored with this smoke. It seems extremely one dimensional and after the initial burst of spice seems to have become pretty bland.

Not much more to say about this one from there smoked pretty much the same way all the way down definitely not as complex or subtle as a Cuban perhaps its just me and I wasn't able to pick up the subtleties the smoke had to offer. I would probably give it a 5/10 or may be a 6 considering it did look gorgeous.

Any one else smoke this one? Would love to hear what your experience was.

It's been awhile, but I've had a couple of these over the years. I agree with your review and found they have a core of cedary + lightly spicy tobacco. Davidoffs are a well-constructed and consistent smoke ... but overpriced IMO.

I guess you could somewhat compare these to a mild HdM Epicure #1.
