Default Car accident! I cannot win

We had some heavy snow last night and it was suppose to last till noon today. My dad said I could borrow his truck so I could get to work at 6:30am with out any issues.

The tires on the truck are on the bald side. I was going down a hill doing about 10 mph cause I knew how bad this hill can be, the hill curves to the left and it was not plowed yet. The truck start to push straight so I gave it a little gas to turn it and I hit a snow bank against the card rail. This snow bank was froze so I went air born over it. As I came down the truck went side ways and hit a support wire for the telephone pole. My seat belt had a little slack so I go jerk a little. I was glad I hit the wire cause anther 15 feet I would of been in a lake! I was able to drive the truck out. There is a little right front damage. Light is busted, hood bent, fender dented and grill is a mess. The air bag never went off tho.

I did get a warning for traveling to fast for road condition and making an improper right turn. The thing that gets me is you cannot make a right there or you end up in the lake. Its not like I meant to turn right. While we were on site a ton of other people almost hit the cruiser and the fire truck.

I think the moral of this is: Seat belts save lives, but they leave your chest sore.

Thank God you are alive to share your story, one which we should all heed. God bless you and have a good stick or two today.

Thank God you're alright... My wife and I were in a near death wreck about 5 years ago and no we didn't wear our seatbelts and they say if we were we probably would have been dead.

Good thing you're okay! I've had the seat-belt-saved-my-life experience a couple times, myself. They're never fun.

Yes sir. Anytime you are in an accident and you are not hurt, you are pretty lucky. Glad you are ok.

Thanks guys! I'm not to sore today so that is a good thing. When I realized I was heading for a partially froze pond my mind went into over time on how to get out quick once I hit the water. Luckily the Ihit the support cable first.

Better a sore chest or strawberry burn on the neck than a busted open head or worse. For sure seat belts save lives. Glad you are ok Derek, be safe out there bro.

Sorry to hear it, derek, but you have to admit that a right turn doesn't get more improper than that. Look at the bright side: At least you didn't get a ticket for failing to use your signal.
