Default Gurkha Black Dragon Gran Especial

    Date: 8/29/09

Cigar: Gurkha Black Dragon Gran Especial (8.5 x 52)

Cost: I am not sure. I bought a mystery sampler off of a cigar website.

    Drink: Lemon-Lime Gatorade

Appearance: This has a beautiful marbleized wrapper on it. There is a cedar wrap on most of the cigar. There were no veins showing. The appearance gets a 10/10

Pre-Light: I picked up some sort of dark, bitter taste.

Construction: Held an average ash. The draw was good. This is a densely packed cigar. The cigar weighs a ton. The cigar required a some touchups.

Taste of the cigar: This cigar had a horrible taste to it. The only way I can describe it is bitter dirt.

Strength: This is a medium bodied cigar.

Summary: This cigar was horrible. I put it out because I just couldn't assault my taste buds anymore. I would never buy this cigar again. I still have not found a Gurkha I like. I think I will give up on this brand. I give it a 2/10.

Here is where I put it out:

The only one I have liked is the legend. In my opinion, it's the most overhyped cigar brand for the money. Sorry you had such a bad experience with this one.

Before joining botl I fancied trying Gurkhas. Not anymore. It seems that nobody rates them.

I have smoked 3 Gurkas. I finished only one of them, and it was not worth finishing. If the company afford to give me all the Gurkas I could smoke, I would have to say NO. they are that bad. I don't know were they get such a good name from. I'll never smoke another.

I love the Nepalese Warrior--great cheap Cameroon cigar. The Legend is a decent smoke too. The Centurion is pretty good as well. I've had several others, which were all just okay but nothing I personally hated. Hey, to each his own.

I agree. I picked up a cheap fiver of the Nepalese warrior and thoroughly enjoyed it. I Also Have some Legends in the humi which I thought was a great smoke. Dont give up yet!

Dan give up on them because they put out more garbage cigars every year than any cigar maker IMO. It's all a marketing scheme, period!
