    Default Memory cards for dslr

Any difference in memory cards for dslrs? Besides the size. I have a canon t2i. Wanna have. Oyple strictly for photos and a couple strictly for videos.

Speed is the biggest difference, you want a fast one

Go with a class 10 card. Do not cheap out and buy anything less. Its easy to do but class 10's really aren't that much more now.

How do I tell the speed? Is that the class? I see quite a price differential between brands. Is it wise to stay away from the cheapo brands or is a class 10 a class 10 across the board?

Yep, higher the number faster the card. I would stick with a name brand. If you order online off ebay or Amazon make sure you read the reviews and go with a good retailer. ;)

Look at the transfer speeds as well as the class number. Some that are class 10 are faster than others. There are some interesting card tests on utube which show how quickly some class 10's can be overwhelmed by the camera when taking multiple pictures.

I would also add that I like having a few smaller ones then one large one. This way if one does go bad you don't have all you pics and videos on one card.

That card is 60mb/s. The 16GB version would probably be enough for you but why not get something twice the size you need, like with buying a humidor... lol

    These are 22 mb/s but great deal on 2 - 16GB cards:

question should be what format are you shooting in? RAW? if so get the highest you can. I shoot in the one below the raw and just use a 4gb, upgrading to a 16 soon I hope,
