    Default Noveske Short Throw Selector

Just a heads up for the AR guys on here: The Noveske STS hit the market today. It's a cheaper, and superior design, to the current B.A.D.A.S.S. 45* selector (which I also love). I think I will be ordering one as my birthday present to myself.

Noveske Rifleworks is getting ready to release a new selector for your AR15. The 60 degree Short Throw Selector (STS) is available with a long and a short lever, and in both standard and ambi configuration.

We spoke with John Noveske, and he pointed out a few things about this Noveske / Magpul collaboration. The lever is the one we saw released from Magpul for the SCAR, but Noveske designed a way to adapt it to AR15 family of weapons. The levers remain polymer, while the internal cam is machined from Stainless Steel and is nitride treated. The shaft and lever lock together and are held in place via a small screw which is hidden from all but the most curious. One thing we haven’t seen on an AR15 safety before, is a smoothed return throw. John said they worked on the safety to ensure taking the safety off was the same positive feel you were used to, but the return is lightened a bit. The idea behind this was for guys training all day, the on and off actuation would be a little easier on the thumb. We also asked John what the reason was for the 60 degree throw, he replied they had worked on multiple variations, and found that with a less than a 60 degree throw, in extreme conditions, the weapon could still be fired while on safe if enough pressure was exerted on the trigger.

The two big questions often asked are how much, and when can I get it. These will be available from all Noveske dealers and distributors, and while they have already shipped out on the new Nosler Varmageddon Rifles, it will be a few weeks until they are ready for individual sales. MSRP is $39.95 for both the standard and ambi models.

Sweet news! Anything Noveske is quality! I'm not 100% sure about the 45 degree switch though, I've learned all my life in the standard LWK selector. But a that price, why not try it

If you're used to the standard selector, it might be a hard transition. Since I'm still pretty green in the AR world, it's easy for me. I like it A LOT more, and to borrow a friend's words "We are living in the stone ages with 90* selectors".

Ergonomically, I see no issues with my standard selector.

I will admit that the SCARs selector still feels normal for me, in fact it has a crispness to it that i enjoy. I might give this thing a shot, if a vendor i shop with gets them.

Don't try your luck! It won't end well. Now if you manage to get some extra swag from Shot Show that you don't want, you know where to find me!

It's not a matter of some extra swag, it's a matter of bags and bags full of extra swag. It was absolutely crazy the amount of stuff that was being given away. From T shirts, patches, sight tools, ear pro, magazines, dillos, stickers, etc.
