Default Jungle Jim's--A Great Shop!

For anyone who lives in southern OH or northern KY, I wanted to post a review of the cigar humidor at Jungle Jim's Market in Fairfield, OH (just northwest of Cincinnati). It's a very cool international supermarket, with an amazing wine shop and nice walk-in humidor. They host a cigar tasting event about once a month, though I have yet to make it to one (my house is over an hour away).

It seems to me that whoever runs their humidor likely is an avid cigar smoker himself and does a ton of research as to what is really great. The humidor isn't huge, but the selection is very impressive: they carry a ton of Pete's products (Tat reds--Victorias for $4.75; Browns--Noella Reservas for $7.75; El Triunfadors for $9.00; La Riqueza for $8.00 and up; Cabaiguan for $8.50 and up, etc.), other Pepin's, Illusione, Graycliff, Liga Privada, the new Camacho Liberty 2009 for $14.95, etc. Of course, most of the usual suspects and best sellers are there as well.

Basically, tons of awesome stuff! And as you can see, the prices there are great. When I was in yesterday, I bought 4 cigars:

Illusione 88
Illusione 888
Casa Magna Torpedo
Casa Magna Double Toro

Total price with tax: $25.45!!

The B&M near my house sells the Illusione 88 and 888 as well, but they charge $2.25 more per stick! So Jungle Jim's really is the best deal around. I just wish it was closer to my house.

So if you're in the area or plan to visit, I'd suggest giving Jungle Jim's a visit!

I shop there a ton and haven't missed a tasting in close to a year. Last night Chris (the manager) was selling us 2009 Camacho Liberty's for $10 at the tasting when they are $14.75 downstairs. It's a great shop and Chris is a cigar fan and smoker first, a retailer second. They have 2-4 tastings a month (more in the summer) and they are a blast!

Next Thursday is the big CAO rock 'n roll event - don't miss it! Hit me up with a PM and I'll make sure to save you a seat.

i'll be headed down there for my first visit ever on july 18th. gonna pick up a bunch of stuff to make some Thai food...pad thai and tom yum kai soup.

i'v heard nothing but goo dthings about the place, most notably that thy have a killer, absolutely killer, beer selection. id didn't know they sold cigars, but those are great prices.

on a side note, i was at a shop yesterday with diesel and they had 5 unopened boxes of Triunfidors for $9 per stick.

they also had an unopend box of noellas from Nov 07. i just couldn't swing it.

I live about 3 miles from there and go often (but not often enough). The cigar events are pretty good, but Thursday nights aren't good for me so I've only been to a few. The beer and wine selection is fantastic as are the produce and cheese varieties. It's definitely worth visiting if you are in/around Cincinnati and have an hour to burn.

The only Tat specials he has are Noella Reserves, El Triunfadors, and Cojonu 2009's. He just started getting the limited Tats in. I sure hope it continues!! I'm first on the list when the Black Tubos come in.

Jungles has an absolutely sick selection of everything to eat and drink. It's paradise!

I'm going to try to be there, just need to make sure it's cool with the wife and that she's not working and can watch the baby.

Closest thing we got to a Jungle Jim's is Trader Joe's and they don't sell cigars!

I like Jungle Jim's, but their prices aren't as good as The Party Source.
