Default Review: Nub 460 Cameroon

Alrighty Ladies and Gents,

Another review here for a stick that I was eying for a little while. I've only had it for a few weeks, but couldn't help myself anymore.

This time, I smoked a Nub 460 Cameroon. This stick runs for about $6.30 each at my local shop, and measures a stubby 4'' with a thick 60 ring gauge. This cigar was a medium to light brown in appearance, with an attractive wrapper. Not many veins visible either.

Beautiful fall day by the way!

This cigar had a nice, mellow pre-light flavor which included a substantial tobacco flavor, and some leather.

A little university pride...

This cigar lit up quite easily. I've never smoked a nub, or any cigar with a ring gauge this thick, so I wasn't sure what to expect. There was quite a hit of pepper and heavy notes of leather right from the start of the stick. This was opposite of what I predicted it would be from the pre-light smell and taste.

My buddy joined me to smoke his nub 460 Cameroon as well! What a nice, brisk day here at UALBANY!

The spice was almost unpleasant through the nose during the beginnings of the first third. As this third progressed, the spice seemed to dwindle down, and earth and leather took over as the primary notes.

LOOK! It's SANTA (cause of my smoky beard)

This cigar really creamed out through the nose at the start of third # 2. Spice becomes much more pleasant through the nose, lingering in the background of this stick and staying on the tongue.

There are copious volumes of smoke throughout this stick, and the ash holds quite well. I wanted to get a picture of it standing on it's ash before it fell...
Curves to the left...teehee

The ash fell just as I entered the final third. (BUMMER!!)
(I smashed it I was so mad!)

We were sitting under a pine tree, and these nut things kept falling on us! It knocked off my buddy's ash, but mine escaped the barrage of nuts!!

The earthiness present throughout the cigar continued into the final third. As I neared the end, it started to get a little bitter and somewhat unpleasant, so I set it down.

My buddy set his down around the same time I did, complaining about similar tastes.

The overall burn was absolutely fantastic, and I believe it was due to the large ring gauge.

Overall, I would give this cigar an 85/100.

I really enjoyed it, but poor finish knocked off a few points for me. I will definitely be picking more of these up and trying them out!

Hope you enjoyed my review! See you guys next time!

Great review and pics!

So far, the best cigar I've had was a Nub Connecticut 460. It was an absolute delight. A perfect treat after dinner. It didn't have an eventful finish either but it's not enough to stop me from wanting to get it again.

Thank you!

Thanks everyone!
I hope you guys aren't turned off by all of the pictures. I REALLY enjoy taking them, and they help me recall the different flavors at different points for some reason. Hope you enjoy!

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.

The maduro was by far my favorite! They tend to get hot and bitter towards the end just because of the SUPER ring gauge. Nice review with a great spot!

Thanks estate! Pick one up and have my review in mind while smoking it...it would be interesting to see how our tastes differ. My buddy that was smoking with me got a completely different flavor. Came from the same box, but mine was in the humi for a bit longer. Not sure if that played an important role, but it might have!
