I know there have been threads on underrated cigars.... But I want to mention a few smokes that seem to get no play, but have become favorites of mine. I try a lot of different cigars, from a lot of small or lesser known makers. Call it cigar ADHD, but I just like to give these smokes a chance when I can find them. Not all are good, but some are great. I thought I'd take a minute to mention a few and maybe hear about some you may have tried.

Antonio Benitez robusto maduro. I'm smoking one tonight and it is top notch. Full bodied, rich maduro flavor and just the right amount of spice. This one has a rich sweetness that comes and goes. Nice complexity, great construction and well priced.

La Cima classic. Strong and spicy, but rich and balanced as well.

Pedro Martin gold. If you like 601 Black, NWC, or MOW Virtue this one will please...., but IMHO it's as good or better rott than any of those.

Forcade/Giralda. Blended by Jaime Garcia, these are excellent smokes that come in a broadleaf maduro or Ecuadorian wrapper. Can't find them in a shop very often, but they are worth looking for.

There's a lot more, but I'll stop there....

Hammer and Sickle - Moscow City - I believe this was originally blended to compliment the brand of vodka (which I don't drink), but I picked up a few and it was a damn good cigar. Pricey, but honestly worth it. I've tried the other 2 blends of Hammer and Sickle and they weren't as good, stick with the Moscow City!

Ashton aged maduros - this isn't a boutique blend by any means, but they get no love on the forums and I think they're fantastic.

Red Raider JUST PIF'd me one of these last week... I was curious about it, but hadn't gotten off my lazy butt to do the research. Thanks for the information! Can't wait to smoke it now.

Very interesting, I haven't heard of any of those...You've definitely piqued my interest though. I'm a big fan of smaller brands since discovering Rodrigo. Not only are Rodrigo cigars great and just downright tasty but George has become a friend of mine, he's really a great guy that will be big sometime soon. I feel like he is the next Dion Giolito, which couldn't be higher praise...George and Kevin Michaels have really got something special going for them.

The Elogio Edition Limitada lancero is a great boutique cigar. I bought a 10er from Joe Fuller at Fuller's Puller's before he closed his online store. I can't find them anywhere now. Thankfully, I have a few left. Also, I liked the Spanish Galleons I bought from Atlantic a couple of years ago. I used to smoke those with "hoppy" beers like Stone Ruination.

Reinado's are great and I'm not saying that they're ignored but they don't get the attention they deserve. Solid medium body Nicaraguan with TONS of flavor. A perfect cigar for any time of day IMO

It's a CI (CI, cigar.com, cbid) exclusive.

La Riqueza--Pete's first Broadleaf stick, and still underrated
Padilla 1932--excellent value
EPC Elencos--I hear very little about these, but they're very good!

Yes they own the line... But my first time smoking one was through a cigar of the month club which I believe was "Cigarmonthclub.com" and stogieboys sells them as well. I've only seen the tins in stores. Nonetheless the peppery sweetness in the cigar made it great in my book.

La Riqueza - I got a bunch of these in a grab bag purchase from Headbanger. I'm extremely impressed, and enjoy everyone I smoke. It has sold me.

Jameson Black Label - The only one I've tried is their robusto, and I REALLY enjoyed it.

Reinado Cigars - Really nice cigars, very relaxing and very enjoyable. Definitely worth a try. I see the owner post on here from time to time as well.

Here's a good site for the lesser known boutique cigar brands - http://www.charmedleaf.com/

I cigar I think is great that I've heard so little about is the Torano Our Roots Run Deep Tour Exclusive from 2009. I absolutely love it and I've heard almost nothing about them.

I would also agree with Paul Garmirians. I had my first Gourmet Series tonight and it was absolutely fantastic. The stogie geeks are the only place I've heard much chatter about them.
