For $5, I think mine has to be the Padron 3000 in maduro. Perfect, consistent smoke. Doesn't need baby sitting. Rich, dark taste with a ton of smoke (very similar to how most Ligas smoke IMO).

pimp on a budget:

brick house corona larga
cao la traviata davino (both nat and mad)
flores y rodriguez (more habano than maduro)
padron 2000 (more maduro than natural)
chateau fuente chateau (sun grown, then maduro, then natural)

honorable mentions:
perdomo lot 23, haven't smoked a ton, but have shown well)
man'o'war puro authentico, IF you score them on dealie ($3.75 courtesy of sharp eyes in the official cigar deals!)

Most of the sticks I smoke are in that range, I typically shop the deals though. The ones I like that you can find most often or always are: MOW Ruination, MOW PA Maduro, Diesel, Diesel Unlimited, PDR Oscuro, Obsidian and the list goes on.

Sean did a nice job summing everything up. For something that was not mentioned, Perdomo Habano robustos can be had on the regular on Cigar Monster for $16 for a 5 pack, free shipping. That's $3.20/stick for a pretty damn good smoke, IMO.

Ah yes, forgot to add Oliva V lanceros. I picked up a box for $2.75/stick, which I thought was a helluva deal.

Also, Tatuaje La Riquezas can be had for about $4/stick from various sites from time to time - they typically need 6 months to a year to really shine, but still a good smoke for the $, IMO.

Yeah, I've tried really hard to get into the La Riquezas, but I just can't. Not sure why. I have a couple that are from 2010 that I need to try. I've had about 5 so far and they were all resting for a few months, and still wasn't impressed.

There are a bunch of cigars at those prices. My top picks are Oliva V lancero, EPC short run 2012, La Aurora 107, and of course Padron 3000.

Brickhouse was my introduction into the cigar world! Great smoke, and now I'm down the slippery slope! haha.
