Hey Brothers. Thought I might share the progress of the GER(Grand Empire Reserve) line extension project that is under development. Currently considering the following vitolas below and would love to hear what you guys think...All suggestions and input is welcome. GER blend to be included on all these. Really excited about the way the protos are tasting. Thanks.

1) petite lancero - 6 x 38

2) corona gorda - 5 5/8 x 46

3) toro - 6 x 52 (shown in attached pic)

4) toro gordo - 6 x 58

The CG is usually my favorite size and I will normally try that vitola if it is available for a cigar I like, but I usually do not try out the petite lancero unless I hear from others that it really works for the blend. If the PL is just OK for the GER and not great, I would opt for a different vitola, maybe a lonsdale (i know i know, wasn't an option)?

I'm a small RG guy not into the 60" at all. All those u have listed look like something I would smoke. Lonsdale would be my vote too even though its not an option. Lol

I don't like thick cigars either, but they are selling right now ike crazy. They're smart to have some thicker gauges in there. I think all the sizes are going to do well.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 2 because, you know, I love Tapatalk 2.

Bigger sizes sell, its nice to have one or 2 sub 50 ring options but the rest should all be 50 and up if you want to make money. It drives me insane when Im taking orders but its the sad truth.

-If the blend works in a lance, this would definitely be great to see, but not a must have.

2) corona gorda - 5 5/8 x 46

-This is the perfect size in my opinion. Must have.

3) toro - 6 x 52 (shown in attached pic)

-Not a huge fan of larger than a 50 RG, but this is a decent choice that I don't think anybody would complain about. I would prefer a Robusto to a Toro, but you didn't give that option. 2nd or 3 choice out of these for me.

4) toro gordo - 6 x 58

-Based on my last statement, you would have to guess that this is the last choice for me. I see the market for these, so I wouldn't fault you if you introduced these, but I would make sure you have the CG or PL as well if you introduce this.

In short, send me a sampler with these four sizes and the original GER so I can evaluate all of them.

Pretty much everything I came here to say! Only difference is the PL is probably a bit more intriguing to me than Fnord implies.

Funny because anything above a 50 never seems to get too much love here at botl (unless super premium cigar: behike, mfle, etc etc)...but the 50s-60s rg are so popular with the masses right now. I do have to say though that toro is in top 3 sizes in my book

Cool, glad you agree with me... I mainly feel that the CG is an important size that has a bigger market for the PL. I've never even had anything from Reinado, so I really can't comment on what I think the blend will be like in these sizes, but a CG would probably sell better than a PL. Also just looked up the size of the original GER, its a 5x55, so I think that a toro or toro gordo wouldn't be terribly diverse from the current size.

are you planning this as a box pressed line (at least the larger vitolas, can't actually imagine a BP lance)? a larger ring can actually work in a press when it comes off as obnoxious in a round format.

FWIW you all have been doing great work, and i look forward to seeing how these come out. also would like to see these in a shop or two in the cincinnati area... just sayin'. o)
