Fall and winter have finally arrived. Most of my best outside spots are to bitter. I used to smoke in my older car, it really had those pig pen-esque stink lines. With this car I was hesitant about smoking in it. So my question is, how can I smoke in my car without it smelling terribly. I'd appreciate any ideas. I would like to enjoy a smoke again on the 20+ mile ride home from work. Thanks.

have your father spill most of your triple espresso in the car (hypothetically, I heard it works wonders for the cigar smell.)

NNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!

shit, man, don't scare me like that!

I have heard (maybe from hot sauce, IIRC? been a minute) that a fabric softener sheet under the seat, near where the venting is, can help. easy and cheap fix, so worth a try!

Open the windows. I smoke cigars in my Jeep all the time, and nobody knows it because there is no smell. I just open all the windows.

Then there is also stuff like this: http://www.famous-smoke.com/csonka+car+fresh+air+purifier/item+19705

The reviews on such items are flip-floppy though. Some people swear by it, while others say it is completely useless.
I use the Csonka "Original" product in my rec/smoking room (about 600 sq ft) and swear by it - I have it running 24/7 most of the time ... it will completely get the smell out in less than 12 hours. I can't speak for the car version but if you are smoking non-stop in your car to and from work, short trips, etc. then I don't know if anything could get rid of the smell. $25 on sale at Famous though is worth trying.

You could try whatever the product is that advertises on TV that it will get rid of the smell completely in cars, rooms, etc. They bring people in blindfolded and say it smells like "summery day", and that type of crap.

Ok well if your driving. Turn you heater on, but only on the ground setting so all the heat is coming from the bottom of the car then crack the drivers side window about two inches. The heat will rise trapping the smoke and then blow out the window. I have smoked not only in my own car but girlfriends car many times and she never found out. And she doesnt like the smell of cigars so she would have noticed.

Is the smell of cigar smoke unpleasant? I smoke in my car and for about a day or two after it smells and then it goes away. I just leave a window cracked an inch or two all the time. But I enjoy the smell of lingering cigar smoke, maybe I'm weird but it's like a worn leather chair smell, every time I smell it I think that Sean Connery is going to walk up and tossle my hair and ask me to play catch before having "the talk" with me.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll be happy to try them.

Sofc- be thank full it wasn't Manhattan Espresso soda. I once ruined a friends fabric seat with that. Never came out and dried hard as Hell.

Gavin- Not unpleasant. But to say the least I was in a bad place, girlfriend finally left. I never vacuumed. Butts remained in garbage bag for weeks. Ashtray always full. So it was my own doing. Just trying to avoid it.

I ordered some Ozium from Amazon just now. I remember using it years ago, but had forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder :) That stuff is great.

1. Turn off yours cars reciculator and only use outside air. Fan speed 2 seems to work well. Also use the feet icon on the dashboard.
2. Cracking drivers side window a inch like op mentioned.
3. Keep the cigar close to cracked window.
4. While smoking blow out exhausted air to cracked window.
5.Clean the cars interior by wiping inside down weekly.
6. Use a coupe sprays of frebreze.

That first one is big. I smoke in cars all the time (mine, my wife's, rentals.) First time I accidently ran recirc on a rental, I thought I was toast. That just pulls cigar smell bombs into the bowels of the ventilation system and will assault you later.

Don't run recirc, keep it clean, crack (or open) windows at night when it won't rain, and you'll be fine.
