Contest interest

Ok guys I'm thinking of a contest. So I wanted to run this by u guys and see if anyone was interested.

I thought we could have out own "cobfoolery" contest here. (Not my term) we can call it anything we like. Cob Contest or whatever.

What's needed is an ordinary cob. One of those cheapie Chinese cobs would work fine. An imagination. And enough hand eye coordination not to hurt urself.

The challenge, take an ordinary cob and rework it into a smokable piece of art, ie zombie cob, Picasso cob etc. Then post pic of said cob for judging. And pic of you smoking said cob as proof it's yours and it is smokeable.

The prizes. Well I figure all entrants can promise one tin of baccy to the winner. Maybe if we get enough interest we can do a couple of winners, "best cob", "ugliest cob", "OMG you smoked that thing?". You get the idea.

What do u all think?

I would say "Hell yes!, but I'm behind on too many projects as it is without throwing another art project in the works. :sad:

I don't think we have enough pipe smokers, or experienced ones at least. Maybe something will come out of it and I'll give it a go

Really long time frame. Like 6 weeks/2 months or longer. Most of us can't just knock this out in an afternoon. Hell I don't even have electrical outlets in my shop yet.

Anything goes.

Only two rules.
1) the tobacco chamber must be a cob.

2) must be smokeable.

The only limits are our own imaginations. If u want 14 feet of copper tubing from the bowl to the bit then start soldering. If u like to enjoy beer with ur pipe then hook up a beer tap. If u like to smoke fast then drop a hemi in it.

Look if u want, since so many around here like popcorn, to make a pipe of of a popcorn cob and pop popcorn as u smoke I want u to post video.

I definitely am. I have a bunch of junk cobs I have no idea what to do with......so plaster of Paris and a dremel and I'm gonna create something.

did I miss something? I thought we were still on. Crap and I didn't sleep last nite cause I was thinking about bedazzleing a cob..... mumble mumble now I'm grumpy.
I may still do it also and post pics. Its OK if there is only a couple of us and still have a cut off date

Hey man sorry I was afraid it was only going to be you and I. We can keep it as a contest. I'm making the pipes anyway. It's going to be fun. I'm also making a maple cob is like poker. I will post pics. If we got enough interest I may have throw in a special grand prize. Well I guess I will still jeep it as an option. Thanx for the interest.

How about we just attempt it if we can clint? Instead of making it a contest, we can just do it for fun this year to test the waters. I'm sure in a year we'll have plenty more pipe smokers to hold a good contest. That and many of us seem to be busy with our personal lives currently
