So I've been asked to pick out a box of cigars for about 10 executives from the power industry who are going on a bird hunt next week in north Florida. I was asked to get something medium to mild that would appear to the masses.

Here are my thoughts, in order.

Four Kicks Corona Gorda

Herrera Esteli Lonsdale

The Griffins Piramide

Montecristo White Toro

What are your thoughts or alternative suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Davidoff is a good recommendation. Fairly mild, easily approached by a non-smoker, but with the cachet to make them feel like they're smoking something good.

That said, there are better cigars, in my opinion, that cost less money.

Could always go Cuban.

From your list I would lean towards the Montecristo White toro. It's a mild-medium stick, should give about a 45 min- 1 hour burn time.

There are so many options out there...what's the budget?

Of the ones listed, i would do the HE lonsdale. One of my favorites at the moment.
If CCs are an option. You cant go wrong with Cohiba (maybe Robusto or a 10 box of Siglo VI) or Montecristo #2.

I would suggest the Headley Grange as a good "medium" smoke. The four kicks is a good choice but personally I think that the HG is "smoother" and more flavorful. Other good choices IMO would be Fuente Hemingway or something from the Padron 1000 series.

These are not necessarily cigars that are going to knock their socks off but should be a good choice for something that will be enjoyed by both experts and novices alike.

Herrera Estelli, Arturo Fuente Hemmingway, San Cristobal Revelation. Other lighter options would be the RyJ Romeo, Oliva G or Connecticut

Here's is my take on this. Obviously, you have been tasked with something that you need to come off looking good in doing. To me, this takes the idea of picking the right brand over the best Cigar. This isn't the normal of thinking here at BOTL, but follow my thinking for a second.

I personally would first off go with a recognizable brand, and the more recognizable, the better. Being asked to get something mild to medium makes me think they aren't going to be heavy smokers. Using this as an example, and no offensive to JFire, while the EPC New Wave is a great choice, brand wise you won't impress them with an E. P. "Car-eye-low".

Even if the guys don't smoke often or even at all, they will know brands like Montecristo, Cohiba and Davidoff. Personally, I would go with the Davidoff because to me, they are a great mild smoke.

I know my logic goes against how we here would choose a Cigar for ourselves, but you have been tasked with essentially impressing "Big Wigs". And as a Cigar guy myself I wouldn't turn down a Davidoff if someone was handing them out.

And I would completely avoid Cuban Cigars, giving a big wig something that is illegal could be detrimental to your career no matter how cool you think it may make you look. Not worth the risk.

Craig Mac, you hit the nail on the head. I have been balancing what I believe is a great cigar and should be enjoyed by all and something that is brand recognizable and a good cigar. I won't be going on the trip to help upsell the cigar and boutique brand...such as a Crowned Heads or EPC cigars which the infrequent smoker probably doesn't even know exists. They are probably familiar with Montecristo, Cohiba, Ashton, Davidoff and Ghurka brands.

A lot of great smokes have been mentioned and my personal preference leans towards a Four Kicks or Headley Grange, however the Davidoff might be the right choice. Thanks Craig.

Davidoff bro. Stay away from the boutique brands as nobody is going to recognize them or appreciate their taste, and err on the side of going too mild than too strong. You don't want to be remembered as the guy who gave out cigars that gave them a headache and a "hangover" the next day.

Hoyo Excalibur Connecticut is a nice mild smoke too with nice presentation, but my vote is still for the Davidoffs. Pick up a nice cutter and a couple of nice lighters too if you don't have them already. Vertigo makes some nice ones that would help stay within the budget. For something like this a nice presentation and taking care of details can make a good impression.
