BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Day 18 of #MeerschaumMarchMadness, my final entry, in the I. Baglan carved Turkish meer
Today with Motzek Strang, more German tobacco with thanks to @stukibuilt, and the final new to me blend in my month of many samples.
James had some Strang recently as a celebration for getting a haircut, and I figured I'd do the same. Hair and beard are all gone. I feel ten pounds lighter!
HA! And today I have retired my razor. I retire in 12 months and planned on not shaving after that but decided screw it I'm getting a Dr's note. I'm not allowed to have a beard at my job. So I mentioned it to my supervisor tonight that I've got a Dr's appointment on the 27th and he told me I could stop shaving now. Bye bye razor! I gotta keep it trimmed neatly till I retire. Then I'm going for the Griz's look. Wife already hates my beard and I haven't even grown it yet?

When I was in the Army, if I had a four day weekend and didn't shave, or came home from the field with a porn 'stache, my wife would lose her shit. HATED any facial hair on me at all. Seriously, it was a row at my place if I didn't scrape my face clean every morning
When I got out, partly as a gag, and partly because I wanted to, I grew a big old Hulk Hogan-esque fu manchu mustache. (I looked ridiculous). After a couple of months, I was like "Enough of this! time to shave." Much to my surprise, the wife was adamantly against it. Soooooo.... I kept it. After a few years and a slightly better class of employment, I filled it in with a goatee too. Over time, it's developed into a full (though neatly trimmed) beard. The one time in the last fifteen years I've been clean shaven, we nearly divorced.
Turns out, my wife who married a baby-faced, clean shaven, high-and-tight haircut having soldier, has some sort of sliding scale where she likes me more the longer my hair and beard are. This would be great (because I'm essentially lazy and shaving sucks) except that I wear a suit every day. So I have to keep both the hair and the beard neatly trimmed which kind of ruins the whole experience for me. I feel like a douche when I look in the mirror and go "Oh, my beard is starting to really look like a beard. I guess I better trim it!" Clean shaven, I could probably pass for early to mid thirties. With the beard... there is too much gray in it to fool anybody about my age.

Condolences brother. I just had to trim up the beard for my wedding last Saturday. At least it will grow back but the damn barber took way more than the inch I asked to be trimmed

Ahh, back to the briar today. I had fun with #meerschaummarchmadness but I missed the variety.
Today I broke out the Brandon Brooks "Nasal Anse", starting her off right with some SPC Mississippi River.
NICE pipe man!! Super nice.
